Excellent book
This book provides an excellent single-volume overview of nineteenth-century American labor history. It's well-written and well-researched. I highly recommend it.

Artisans into Workers
This book seems hard to follow. We are using this book for a labor history class and I am struggling to follow it. I wouldn't read it again and I doubt that I would recommend it to anyone else to read.
