Dark forces are at work seeking to tear Cait and Trevor apart. Can Trevor's lot as a pawn in a game forged by the Otherworld be transformed? His ancestors and siblings failed to avoid the consequences of the hereditary curse. A determined warrior, Cait refuses to accept defeat, refuses to let Trevor fall prey to those same dark forces. Aided by her witch friends, Cait merges herself with Trevor's family history, a past fraught with demons and ancient goddesses. She will fight and love is the key!

This was an interesting read. I found myself wanting to take an axe to the chair as did Cait. Lots of chills and creepy moments. I'm never one to enjoy dark basements or gloomy attics and this story only confirms my decision.

If you follow any of my reviews, you know that romance is my preferred genre, but I do like to stretch myself a bit and read a variety of works. Such is the case with The Artist's Inheritance.

It took me a little longer to finish the story because I could only read it during the daylight hours. No, it's not that scary. I'm just a big wimp like that. But there are paranormal elements that have to be uncovered and deciphered by our heroine, Cait.

See she and her husband Trevor have recently moved into his twin brother's home in Florida near a fort that was used during the Civil War. Trevor (an artist) becomes obsessed with a chair he is carving while strange things begin to happen all around them. Cait sees apparitions, feels cold spots in the house, and starts to believe that a famous art critic is really an imp. Ooh, and did I mention that Trevor's twin Gordon committed suicide?

With the help of friends, Cait uncovers just what's bothering Trevor which reveals family secrets and curses that are over a hundred years old.

Juli D does a great job at setting up the work for future stories. There are a lot of happenings in The Artist's Inheritance which makes it a quick and interesting read. It's impossible to know what's going to happen next. But I can't wait to find out.

I got a chance to read an uncorrected proof of this book. It’s a real treat for those who love a great mix of urban fantasy, paranormal and good old fashioned ghosts. Throw in an enchanting trio of good witches and you have a delightful story that is well paced, scary, romantic, and plain fun. I don’t write reviews with plot rehashes. The author does a great job of describing the story. THE ARTIST’S INHERITANCE follows the husband and wife team of Trevor and Caitlin as they settle into their new home. But there are things waiting for them in that house. Things not of this time and place. Caitlin must confront evil in two worlds for the soul of her beloved Trevor.

Possession. Curses. Imps. Goddesses, ghosts and haunted chairs all stand in the way to the salvation of her marriage, her home and her husband. But there is more. Caitlin is confronted with and must solve another mystery from the past that plays a part in her life now. And that is just the beginning. Once THE ARTIST’S INHERITANCE hooks you, you’ll find yourself rushing to the end, hoping Caitlin can win the battle for her soul and that of her husband. THE ARTIST’S INHERITANCE is the first in Juli D. Revezzo’s Antique Magic Series. If this offering is any indication, I will be looking forward to the second novel in the series.

"The Artist's Inheritance" by Juli D. Revezzo is a thriller that will appeal to fans of Paranormal Fiction. It has all the right features for a story that includes witches, imps, past lives -- you name it! Caitlin and Trevor are the current owners of the home where Trevor's twin died. As Caitlin seeks to uncover the details of Gordon's death, she experiences bizarre visions, while her husband Trevor becomes obsessed with a chair he is creating. As Caitlin delves deeper into the family's history, more and more mysteries appear, and strange events occur. An "E" ticket read!

The Artist's Inheritance centers on Caitlin and Trevor as they relocate to Florida after the untimely death of Trevor's brother. As we watch them settle into the new-to-them house and begin the process of cleaning up the bits of his brother's life, we realize soon that things are not okay. Cait is a strong woman deeply in love with and committed to her husband, which is why, when things start getting strange, she sticks by him rather than running away with her hands in the air. Here is a woman who is going to stand by her man, especially when he needs her the most.

Cait begins to learn things, about Trevor's family, about their haunted past, about *her* haunted past, about the world around her, that she could have never suspected. Her whole drive, throughout the book, is to keep her family together. Can she do it, when forces she doesn't understand threatens to drive them apart?

I absolutely _love_ this book. I've been following Juli's work for quite some time now, and I am so thrilled that she's released this book directly. Her writing is well executed, and the strength of the story is uplifting. There are moments in the book when, were I Caitlin, I would have left Trevor high and dry, and never mind if he went mad or not. There were moments when his behavior had me wanting to strangle him -- yet Cait's reaction were always true to her character. Juli's ability to write such believable characters is inspiring to behold. I mean it as the highest praise when I say, "I wanted to throttle him, but the way he acted made sense, given what was going on." her command of setting is as solid as her command of character. All in all, this book was a joy to read, and I highly recommend it.
