This review is from: Artner Reader's Guide to American History (Plastic Comb)
Looking for lists of musty, mostly out-of-print history books that patriotically present the story of America through the actions of Great Men? This is the guide for you. The Artners are leery of any books published after 1960 and make sure not to include anything that might undermine their cheery, Manifest-Destiny view of the United States, meaning any book influenced by scholarship of the last half century. This is the sort of thing that gives homeschooling a bad name.
