Artograph 12"x18" LightTracer II Light Box,

I love my lightbox. The light is bright, I can easily trace, the only thing I would add to it is some way to attach my paper to it without it slipping or moving. I have to use tape on the edges so I can keep it in place.

Great Inexpensive Light Box,
This review is from: Artograph 12-Inch-by-18-Inch LightTracer II Light Box (Kitchen)
I know most use it for tracing of some sort, but I bought this light box for layering multi-color/layer vinyl decals. To that end, it works excellently. I used to do it by lining up registration marks on the vinyl. This makes it a lot easier. Just tape down the second layer, line up and place the first layer; tape down the third layer, line up and place the combined 1st and 2nd layers, etc.
The light in this light box is plenty bright. As well as layering vinyl decals, I can see it coming in handy for tracing images to vectorize (the sharpie method). One reviewer mentioned their light bulb being loose in it's fitting; I suspect she may have gotten a defective unit. The light bulb in mine does not move in the slightest amount; it's in there rock solid. Artograph provides a 5 year warranty with this light box, which is commendable amongst today's typical 1 year warranty. Build quality is excellent; the unit is made out of plastic, but feels very sturdy. The acrylic diffuser sheet fits tightly in the provided opening and sits ever so slightly below the surface. This is good since the acrylic edges can be sharp and very uncomfortable to work on if they were above the surface. Another reviewer mentioned having to flip the switch a few times to get the light going; in the manual it states to press and hold the switch for a few seconds to warm it up from a cold startup. This is the way I've been doing it and it has been working great for me. Other small details: -The tool recess can be useful for frequently used items. -It comes with a hideously gaudy magenta logo sticker affixed to the top left corner. Once I confirmed the light box was working and met my standards I promptly removed it and relocated it to the bottom and have since replaced it with a vinyl decal. Now it doesn't look like a toy. -For those who it matters to, it is made in the USA. That's about it! I'm happy with it and see no need to spend hundreds when this does the job for much less (about a Grant in my case).

My mom does a lot of embroidery, which means a lot of tracing patterns. The Artograph 12x18 has been a big help. The angled surface make seeing the pattern easier because there is no need to hunch over the box. It's made tracing all the detailed patterns so much easier and it's larger surface means less shifting of patterns. I would highly recommend this to anyone who does a lot of pattern tracing.

I bought this product so that I could trace large drawings to fabric for my custom rug-hooking projects. I didn't need the snazz-bang, uber-expensive professional light tables, but I did need a large, stable working surface. This really fit the bill. It comes with a bulb, so you can use it right out of the box. I keep it in its box for easy storage under my workspace, and it has come in handy for other small projects. The bulb is a little loose, and my husband tried to tighten it up in its fitting without success, but overall, I really recommend this for the price.

Really cool! Works awesome!,
This review is from: Artograph 12-Inch-by-18-Inch LightTracer II Light Box (Kitchen)
This thing is sturdy, bright and easy to use. Granted, tape is needed to keep everything from slipping off but I've done tons of beautiful drawings with it. It's so cool to be able to sketch any ideas and transfer them to my good paper without constant erasing and redrawing that can damage it. This is a good gift for a moderate to moderate-pro artist. A smaller one might be better for a beginner. I really hope this review helped!

I ordered the Artograph LightTracer II light box after a move when I couldn't find my original light box (haven't we all been there?), and I was pleasantly surprised at the performance. It is light weight and projects good light, making it a pleasure to use. I had an illustration project to complete and it did everything I needed.

The LightTracer2 is perfect for my needs. I am a quilter and I need to trace quite often. This can be moved to my different stations easily and I love the slant surface..I am now able to trace and draw correctly while sitting, which helps me to get more done at each sitting! Thank you, thank you.

Good quality product - but the light is not very bright - needs more than one bulb - will work for well for tracing on paper, but not fabric - slightly disappointed.
