Part One contains examples of working with refugees and migrants from a variety of backgrounds, highlighting some of the problems that are associated with working with clients from a different cultural context. Part Two explores the practice of arts therapists who are themselves refugees or migrants, and the perspective that they can bring to multicultural practice. In the final section, the contributors discuss training in the arts therapies, and how best to construct a framework for working with multicultural and often traumatised clients.
