Great playing marred by some tape hiss, December 19, 1999

As to be exptected, the playing on these discs are SUPERB. The Beethoven, Brahms and Schubert peices are particuarly wonderful. The only deduction of a star comes from the unusually large amount of tape hiss on the Beethoven Sonata in E Flat "Hunt". The playing, even from that 1954 recording, is still great.
