Not only is this little kitchen gadget lively and pretty, it's size makes it one of the handiest spoonrests I've ever had! The ceramic is thick and sturdy. It does much more in my farm kitchen than catch messy cooking spoons: I use it like a mini-marble slab to check my candies and jellies. I measure liquids in it since the lip is about 1/2" thick. And I also rest the mess on it almost everyday! I love it!
