Fans of the great Young Marble Giants might do well to check out the Cannanes, and this record is as good a place to start as any. The genius of the Cannanes is maybe best appreciated if you quit your job and go back to school full-time and spend long hours in your room empathizing with yourself as no one else can and discovering that maybe there's hope for love or at least something fun. A good example of how creative the human brain is when left to its own devices. The Cannanes take on the tiny contraptions of human history that the texts have looked over. They investigate the queer people you see on the street, the people you know too well who make you scream or want to scream, and the fabulousness of all things great and (especially) small. Four thumbs up, a dozen stars and this is a good album. See also "A Love Affair With Nature".
