Basmati means "Queen of Fragrance" - Characterized by superfine kernels, exquisite aroma, great taste, silky texture, delicate curvature and linear kernel elongation, BASMATI is considered to be the rice of the connoisseurs. Aroma of BASMATI imparts its novel characteristics that is unmatched by any other grain elsewhere in the world. BASMATI rice has inherent but subtle nuttiness that really tastes good. My family and I live in a very rural area of Northeastern Michigan, and could not find this rice in any store in the vacinity. Luckily though, Amazon.com had it at a very reasonable price and it was shipped right to my door! Its quality is great, and the taste is unlike any other rice.

We have been eating this rice for past 8 years and the rice has absolute consistent quality and texure every time we make it. We have been buying this from an ethnic store but now Amazon has the rice at even a better price. Amazon also carries the larger pack of 10 lb for everyday user.

I eat rice almost every day. On Sunday, I make a huge pot of curry and throw a batch of rice into the rice cooker and I'm set for meals for the rest of the week. Because of this, I go through a TON of rice. Since the rice at my local grocery store was a bit on the expensive side, I decided to get this.

I consider this an "every day" rice. I prefer Basmati for my every day rices because it has a nice flavor that goes well with lots of dishes (as this does). I've had more flavorful Basmati rices but they were, of course, more expensive. Not something that I want to spend everyday for just a simple dinner. Another thing I like is that they are in 2 pound bags which fits well into my rice canister on the counter making it easy for me to access without a huge, open bag cluttering up the kitchen and threatening to spill all over my floor.

All in all, a quality product that I would recommend to people who eat a lot of rice and need something that is tasty and convenient for every day use.
