Wow! A Double CD, 56 tracks of 1930's-1950's Gospel. I notice the artist's aren't listed at Amazon, so here's the rundown: Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Golden Gate Quartet, Pilgrim Travellers, Alphabetical Four, Morris Brown Quartet, Capitol City Four, Mahalia Jackson, Fisk Jubilee Singers, Wright Brothers Gospel Singers, Sister Ernestine Washington, Elder Charles Beck, Bright Moon Quartet, Two Gospel Keys, etc. The sound quality is fantastic for recordings from that long ago. Real toe tappin' testifyin' gospel for so cheap! Highly recommended if you're into this sort of thing.

Having previously purchased one of these 'As Good As It Gets' series (Juke Box Blues), I thought I couldn't go wrong if the Gospel collection was of the same standard. And how right I was. A superb collection from the golden age of Gospel featuring great material from the well known artists such as Sister Rosetta Tharpe & Mahalia Jackson as well as a swag of lesser known but mightily talented performers. Excellent value, highly recommended!
