50 Cent, Mike Jones Your days are numbered,
By joehiphophead (Kansas city) - See all my reviews
This review is from: ...As Iron Sharpens Iron (Audio CD)
This album is refreshing on so many levels that it is just ridiculous after listening to a considerable amount of absolute crap this year you hear an album like this and it is just a breath of fresh air. when I hear 50 Cents and Mike jones laughable attemtps at "Hiphop" that all these kids seem to be buying into these days I have to wonder where did the heart and soul go in the music where did lyrical skill go & where did we get to the point that Hiphop music is nothing more than bland iced out players that all look the same spitting the same lyrics about cars money and h--s over beats on the radio that all sound the same. That is why this album is so important the lyrics alone are reason enough to pick this CD up but the beats are equaly great. Stro The 89th Key is quickly becoming one of my favorite producers combining jazz funk soul and rock to create a style that is truly revolutionary. while listening to this several groups come to mind such as The digable Planets, The Pharcyde, and Public Enemy Yes they are that diverse. Hands down one of the best albums I have ever heard. For every politician, school teacher, and parenting group who thinks that Hiphop is nothing more than pretentious garbage that is corupting the minds of our youth you need to listen to this album.

I picked this CD up after a friend suggested I try it. I've been looking for hip hop with a more uplifting message, and this hit the SPOT! I've been playing it non-stop ever since! I like how they get their message across without being too preachy. The beats are fly and mellow, and the rhymes are thought provoking. And I like the mellow or jazzy vibe to this CD. Good stuff!

These guys are the leaders of underground christian hiphop no they aint trying to hide no where or hide nothing, if you listen to the lyrics you'll quickly understand this maaan!! The music is breaking fresh ground and if you like this album the second album two drumsticks for two dollars (just kidding!) Two sparrows for two cents is even more cutting edge. I hope these guys are still fighting the good fight and give us a fourth installment. Oh, if youre folling me theres is a fourth album with the sound providers(they provide the sound and the procussions provide the spitting.) Anyway you get what I'm saying these guys are dope. I beleive they were also noticed by ?uestlove as one of his favorite groups on Okayplayer.com

I know that's a grandiose statement but I like this one so much it's ridiculous. Best alt-rap, underground hip-hop, old-school, new school, west coast east coast, secular, christian, conscious jazz-rap album in years. HARD TO CONTAIN IN ONE GENRE. Similar style to the Pharcyde. Multiple mc's playing off each others rhymes. Amazing skillz. Positive messages ABOUND.

This album throw's the consept that rap has to be "repetative" and "musicless" out the door. Peep their website... http://theprocussions.com they have a video, and a live recording in Japan that says it all. These cats definitly speak for themselves. They are Breaking through to new horizions while still maintaining the perfect pulse of "original" and "Pure Classic" Rap and Hip Hop. They are "REAL" STUDENTS OF THE GAME, turning to "Master" "One-Upped" by students. I will point out that "Stro" the anchor rapper of the group, could be a professional drummer... check out his track at the website "Bee Boy's Alarm Clock".....What chou waitin for, add to your shopping car and tell your car stereo to get ready for a nice massage....
