5.0 out of 5 stars Keeping The Faith
Wow, what can I say? This cd is all about Frank Sr. and a son's love for his father. A father whom he shared with millions. He doesn't try to be Sr. Just a son who loved his father and his father's music. Music that is his music now. Always was. You can almost feel that love filling the room with each note, each word. Salut

3.0 out of 5 stars Too melodramatic???
Interesting interpretations and comments but it's too much of Junior trying to imitate his Dad (like so many others have/will. Junior has a voice and I believe that it would have been more realistic if he didn't try to duplicate his Dad. Use the arrangements - yes. Use many of the same musicians - yes. But don't try to imitate him; it's impossible.

4.0 out of 5 stars A poignant medley of father's music and son's narration., October 16, 1998
This review is from: As I Remember It (Audio CD)
I first heard this before Frank Sr's death. It was being played on a 40's-50's-60's-music radio station in Los Angeles. The second time I heard it (after the death), it sounded almost eulogistic, though I have no reason to believe that was Frank Jr's intent. Frank Jr. narrates the presentation well, telling a number of vignettes about his dad, the songs, the lyricists, the composers, etc. The music, of course, is vintage Sinatra.

A must for the Sinatra aficionado!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'll buy more of Jr's cd's, February 17, 2000
This review is from: As I Remember It (Audio CD)
I'll buy more of Jr's cd's if I can find them, and I'll go see him sing with a band like this anytime. I saw his dad for charity and he was conducting. It was great even if dad was past his prime. I think he could do a second one like this and I hope he will. Thanks Frank Jr. for the entertainment.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is A Terrific Album!, December 20, 2009
This review is from: As I Remember It (Audio CD)
Frank Sinatra Jr. worked for years as his father's band director/arranger and I'm sure that expertise is one reason for the absolutely outstanding attention to mood, instrumentation and musical detail in each and every song here.

Beyond that, he is just a really, really good singer--much better than so many contemporaries who sing these standards--better by far than Harry Connick, Jr...James Darren...Michael Buble, etc. Yes, his voice and phrasing resembles his father--whom he honors here with a great narrative tribute to his father, as well as his own musical fidelity to each and every song.

Frank Jr's voice has a different quality that Frank Sr's--at ANY stage of his career. Without consideration for the "name", Frank Jr. is an outstanding vocalist on his own, pitch-perfect with impeccable phrasing, on each and every song selection. (And what a collection it is! Any lover of standards will treasure this list).

Great CD and I wish someone had the sense to have him make many more. Highly recommended.

This album is fantastic. Frank Jr should be given a thumbs up. He is very under rated and should be up there next to his dad. The "VOICE" lives on through Frank Jr. hope to see more albums from him. Been to 2 live concerts of his fantastic to see him and through him the voice will go on!!!
