5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning Euphoric Trance From Gabriel & Dresden!, February 2, 2004
By

This review is from: As the Rush Comes (Audio CD)
Motorcycle consists of DJ/Remixers Josh Gabriel, Dave Dresden and female vocalist Jes Brieden. "As The Rush Comes" is a top notch euphoric "hands in the air" trancer with superb remixes courtesy of Gabriel & Dresden and the ever so popular Dutch Artist/DJ/Remixer Armin Van Buuren. There are differences in the two remixes. The "Gabriel & Dresden Sweeping Strings Remix" (10:45) has a heavier bassline, mellow synthesizers which when combined with Jes Brieden's soft vocals make for a very hypnotic trance track. The "Armin Van Buuren Universal Religion Remix" (9:59) is very typical of his style of remixing. Similar to his past remixes such as Perpetuous Dreamer's "Dust.Wav", Solid Session's "Janeiro" and Oceanlab's "Sky Falls Down", the song has a very long intro with swirling synthesizers mixing with beautiful female vocals which makes this remix perfect for disc jockey's to spin during a club's peak hour. There's also the "Gabriel & Dresden Radio Edit" (3:34) which is a short version of it's lengthier "Sweeping Strings Remix". Originally a hard to find and a very much in demand song, Ultra Records has finally released this excellent song domestically for all to hear. For trance enthusiats I would also recommend Andain's hit "Beautiful Things" recently released by Robbins Entertainment Records. Highly Recommended!

I first heard this song in an online mix at Digitallyimported.com. The first time I heard it I knew that it was gonna be one of the best trance songs that Ive ever heard. This song has everything that you can ask for in a trance song, a great beat and supperb vocals. The words will stick in your head and you will just want to keep playing this song. This is a must get, one of the best trance songs I have ever heard.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great trance track? Yes! Mind-blowing? Not so much., January 8, 2006

I will happily and readily agree with the other reviewers here that this is a great vocal trance song. Definitely one of the better that I have heard. I am a little mystified, however, by HOW enthusiastic others are about this track.

I recently downloaded the seven track/remix maxi-single of this song from iTunes after reading the incredibly effusive reviews of this song here as well as on iTunes. I must admit that while I was satified with my purchase, I was a tad bit let down. After reading these reviews, I was expecting to be knocked back on my heels. I did indeed love the music as well the vocals, but I didn't find either to be incredibly unlike any track pulled at random from any 4 Strings or Ian Van Dahl album. That is not a bad thing at all, mind you, as I love both 4 Strings and Ian Van Dahl, but I was expecting something completely out of the ordinary here and it just didn't deliver that for me. To be fair, I believe that my assessment may be due to the fact that I am so late in coming to this. If I had heard this years ago when it first came out, I think that I would have been much more impressed. In today's trance soundscrape, however, this isn't anything monumental.

"As the Rush Comes" is certainly a solid addition to your music collection, and I would definitely recommend it to any vocal trance fan, just with tempered enthusiasm.
