Not a fan,
By Kristen (Colorado) - See all my reviews
This review is from: As Seen On Tv 2 Count Mister Steamy Dryer Ball (Kitchen)
I received a set of Mr. Steamy dryer balls as a Christmas present and after using them for a couple of months I can honestly say I'm not a fan of them.
The instructions say to use them with high heat. The only thing I dry on high heat is towels so they are pretty much useless for anything else. The noise they make in the dryer echoes through the whole house and at times it makes it sound as though there is something seriously wrong with the dryer. To me it's just a very distracting and unnecessary noise. I also feel as though the amount of dryer lint doubles, if not triples when using the product. So after two months of use, I'm throwing them out. I tried to like them and give them a chance but just can't.

1. The directions say use with high heat. I don't typically dry things on high heat.
2. It sounds like a shoe clunking around in the dryer. Don't start it before you go to bed. I got this as a Christmas present - it is a stupid gift. I'll stick with the Downey Ball.

Save your money - use an old tennis ball,
This review is from: As Seen On Tv 2 Count Mister Steamy Dryer Ball (Kitchen)
I was intrigued by the shape of the Mister Steamy dryer ball. Thought it might be an improvement over the well known tennis-ball-in-the-dryer trick for fluffing up towels and down-filled items.
Unfortunately, it quickly wedged between a bumper and the dryer wall within a few minutes of tumbling. It was useless. Mister Steamy fails because of its shape and size. It should have been designed to work inside standard size American dryers. It is not. The 'power of steam' claim defies common sense. How could adding more water vapor remove wrinkles in wet clothes? I can see how a wet dryer ball might be useful if tumbled with dry clothes. However, as I said, the Mister Steamy ball quickly wedges in the tumbler, so it is of no help at all. These 'as seen on tv' products frequently make exaggerated claims.
