5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best tools in the kitchen
The Kitchen Plus 2000 is one of the most used, valuable tools in our busy kitchen. We bought our first one 4 1/2 years ago and have used it 2-5 times weekly since then. I'm buying a second now because our is finally showing signs of wear and we don't want to go without.

3.0 out of 5 stars No salad spinner
I should have looked closer at the picture, because THIS version of the Kitchen Plus 2000 doesn't have the salad spinner with it. Other than that, I tried cutting tomatoes with both this and the expensive food processor. The tomatoes in the expensive food processor were unevenly chopped (one fast speed), where with the Kitchen Plus 2000 they were more even. At first...

The Kitchen Plus 2000 is one of the most used, valuable tools in our busy kitchen. We bought our first one 4 1/2 years ago and have used it 2-5 times weekly since then. I'm buying a second now because our is finally showing signs of wear and we don't want to go without.

I have a big garden and the Kitchen Plus is my tool of choice for making "Nathan's Famous Salsa" (chopped tomatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, and cilantro - all in the Kitchen Plus). We use it for mincing onions all of the time, there's no faster way to make them into small pieces without liquifying anything. It's also easy to clean. I have recommended the Kitchen Plus to all of our friends and will continue to do so.

Of course there's always room for improvement - they should make the frame out of stainless steel so that it would never wear out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for the wife...it's is a great gift for anyone that works in the kitchen!, April 13, 2010

This is the best thing around since sliced bread. (Whatever that means...been hearing that for years.) Not only did we discover this wonderful item a few years ago at the Los Angeles County Fair but most of our family and friends love this item. Makes a great gift for anyone that loves to be in the kitchen but does not want to stand around forever slicing and grating and whatnot.

Unfortunate for the vendor that was hiding in some obscure corner at the fair last year, we decided to replace our old one for a new right here at Amazon.com I am glad I found it here because the wife was freaking out that her original one from 6 years had finally cut the cheese...uhhh made its last salsa. I mean the plastic handle and bowl cracked up...literally cracked from a relative with a death grip that should never work in the kitchen. She should be a construction worker or massage therapist.

Any who, I love this item because it makes the wife happy when she is using it cut, chop, slice, grate, etc. I have to admit I enjoy going in the kitchen to use it to make graham cracker crust when I bake.

Thanks for your time reading this review.

At first they were hard to chop, but I just chop them into quarters & they turn out great. If I don't precut them then it's more like salsa, because it makes it kinda smooshed. I love the sharp back to the cutters (backing up). I tried the mandelin & really like it. It's pretty darn sharp (use the guard). I always use the guard after cutting off part of my thumb years ago using an alternate mandelin. This would make the perfect wedding gift!!!! It's a great size with multiple functions. It's great for an RV or small kitchen. I would definately recommend it. (Haven't yet tried the citris juicer).

1.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy!!, January 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Purchased the unit a little over a month ago. The idea is a very good one, and that is just as far as it goes. I keep wondering when it will give out. I am an avid cook and process food by hand quite a bit, and this is definitely NOT a quality product. I really do not understand all the glowing reviews, it really makes me wonder whether they are not actually scamming reviews.

The product is also NOT hygienic. While rinsing the unit, the dirty water sips inside the cover with the crank (which apparently does not have a waterproof seal) -- just waiting to know when the bacteria will grow within the sealed cover and make it dangerous to use....

$20 for the unit is definitely not a good deal, considering the hygienic hazard and the bad quality.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not so easy to use., December 29, 2010
This review is from: Kitchen Plus 2000
I requested and received this item for Christmas. I love the chopping blades, however, the shredding part (for cheese) is made of plastic. It doesn't so much shred the cheese as it crumbles it. Also, the product does NOT come with directions on how to use it. You receive a book with recipes in it and a diagram of what the item is supposed to look like and that's it. Disappointing.

This slicer was horrible! It made mush of my cucumber, tomatoe, and other things I tried slicing. The chopping blade was pretty bad as well. I would highly recommend the Kitchen King Pro which is a fantastic gadget and much more superior to this useless unit. So much for TV products!

1.0 out of 5 stars Should have known better, August 1, 2011
This review is from: Kitchen Plus 2000
My friend and I saw the demo at the fair. We were so excited, we both bought one. Well, the 1st attempt was absolutely incredible. Best salsa I have ever made! Next was ok, I made mango salsa. The third time I thought I was doing something wrong, it pulverized my tomatoes, didn't cut through the skin I tried it 3 more times, re-reading the instructions to make sure I was doing this properly. Same results, tomato MUSH!! What a waste of my not so cheap tomatoes and I can't get replacement blades!! How does that guy sleep at night lying to customers.. oh! the blades last for years and years!! sure if you use it once a year I believe it. What a waste of money, and of course I paid more than twice as much for it since it was live at the fair.. RIP-OFF!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, August 17, 2011

My mother-n-law bought me this product a few years ago. I placed it in the cabinet of unused equipment. I got it out today to use it the dice onions, peppers and zucchini. I am disappointed I have not used this product sooner. I was amazed at how easy it was to use and clean. This is my new favorite kitchen toy. I will be using it a lot since I do major canning projects.

This product is bulky to store and the handle on the side of the processor broke almost immediately. I put it together with Gorilla superglue and so far it is holding although I hold the whole apparatus in my arm. It is true that the blades are very sharp and in that respect it works well but most of the extras are something I will probably never use.
