5.0 out of 5 stars Robo-Maid
Robo-Maid product is perfect for hardwood floors. It will get caught up in the edge of rugs, so it's best to either pick up throws or not have rugs at all. I have two of these and they are great !!! I can't imagine that the expensive ones work any better. Not only do they pick up dog hair and dust, they buff the floors while they do it. Great gift for pet people...

3.0 out of 5 stars GREAT~!!!!! But........
WOW, this really works~!!! LOL~!!!! Cute little toy like Robot "walks" around a room and sweeps for me. My dog loves it too. It is a cheap looking plastic gadget made in China, but it indeed does a job for you. Down side is Replacing PADs, and that is where they make bucks~!!! Pads can be washed/dried and used it again few more times. I am supposed to get 48 FREE...

DO NOT work on Carpet. ONLY for hard floor.

3.0 out of 5 stars Find a product that meets your standards, September 14, 2009

Hi, the Robomaid isn't that bad. Really its only good for floors that have dirt and dust, but not really for anything bigger or else it will just get pushed around. And if you have a dog thats playful he might tear it up lol.

Thank You and Good Luck

1.0 out of 5 stars "ZERO", May 14, 2010
This review is from: As Seen on TV RoboMaid (Kitchen)
I just went back and read the reviews from other customers, hence I do understand why I did purchase 2 of the Robomaids via the Amazon reports. My experience has been very different than those listed and I'm amazed with the satisfaction reports by other customers. First the actual round form that slips around the ball is similar to a flimsy disposable plastic cup, one of which arrived cracked. The ball in the Robomaid in one of my devices does cover a lot of territory. The second purchase only covers about a 6 foot radius and requires me to manually move it. The floors need to be swept before use since it does not pick up anything but dust leaving larger particles behind, including tracked in dirt and burrs from outside on my wood floors. And completely ineffective on my tiled floors. After I finished running the Robomaid the cloth on the bottom of the Robomaid (needs to be replaced after each use), was mildly dirty. After I ran both devices I took my swifter duster across the floor with brief easy movements on the floor and it picked up more dirt than either Robomaid in only a 4 foot radius. The product plus shipping cost me roughly around $35 dollars each, added up to $70 plus the cost of replacement pads= close to $90.

I also purchased the iRobot 110 Dirt Dog at the same time. This little device is for workshops, but it was significantly cheaper than the household items by the same company. This little contraption can VACUUM! It does not have some of the features as the household products, but it vacuumed my hard surfaces including tile and wood flooring. It also transitioned from one flooring type to the other- including persian carpets, easily. I had to empty out the dust bin many times the first few times I used it- now that I have used it many times it is unnecessary to empty the device until the end of each session. The draw back is it does not automatically unwind around string (or the fringe on carpets) that the home devices have. I am currently in the process trying to decide on the iRobot to purchase next since I need three to clean my down stairs (I will stick to the old fashion vacuum cleaner for my carpet upstairs).

All in all- I would give the Robomaid a "ZERO" if possible. The only positive comment I could possibly make is my cat has been entertained. I would save the money and invest with a longer lasting, higher quality cleaner device like the Dustdog at a $129 and a one year warranty. I am returning the Robomaid at a 20% restocking fee (which will go straight to their trash bin I'm sure) and the cost for shipping back. GOOD LUCK helping yourself keep a cleaner home!

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, February 20, 2008

I bought the RoboMaid because I had seen a good review for it elsewhere, and figured that a low-tech toy might amuse my husband. We weren't too impressed. The replacement pads get filled quite easily, and anything remotely solid that the RoboMaid comes across only gets pushed around (and sometimes is re-deposited under sofas, chairs, cabinets or in the corner).

It's a cute little gadget but my husband went and bought a more high-tech robotic vacuum a few days later.

I like the Robomaid so far. My complete satisfaction will depend on how long the rechargeable batteries are going to last. I have used it every day since I received it. It has 750 square feet of tile floor to cover and I now have a relatively dust free floor. How long is it expected to run??

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, December 7, 2007
This review is from: As Seen on TV RoboMaid (Kitchen)
Fun product, more of a toy than a useful tool. After a while it grew lazy and was unable to move. I am not sure why, seems like it did not have enough power.

BUT, for the price, it did a great job for the while it willing and able. It is currently dead, but I plan to purchase more a few more :-)
