5.0 out of 5 stars As Shadows Burn
With so many really good female fronted metal bands out there, what makes Echoes Of Eternity stand out from their peers? Brilliantly conceived and executed songs. With so many really good female fronted metal bands out there, what makes Echoes Of Eternity stand out from their peers? Brilliantly conceived and executed songs. The songs are what attracted me in the beginning. Forgotten Goddess was filled with excellent songs that left me hungrily awaiting the follow up, and I for one, wasn't disappointed.

Their debut has more of a dreamy atmosphere and is definitely a studio album, no doubt hard to recreate live. Actually, it's more in line with what most bands would wait till their second or third disc to attempt. As Shadows Burn goes for a more raw, live sound, without taking any steps backward. The songs are every bit the equal of the debut. They rock and rock hard! They filled out their sound, not with layers of over dubs, but with the addition of 2nd guitarist, Bryan Eagle. It works. He fits in like he was there from the start. There's not a weak moment. Pure metal.

This band is made up of some very talented, dedicated people, who take their art very seriously. Those who can't appreciate a singer over a screamer are welcome to their opinions, but should really expand their horizons. I don't think melodic vocals weaken the metal one bit. Echoes of Eternity can rock just as hard as bands like Arch Enemy. Personally I thought Francine Boucher's vocals were superior to her efforts on Forgotten Goddess. Pure pleasure. As for the rest of the band? They kick ass! The more I listen to this album, the more I realize just how good they are. They obviously love what they're doing, and believe in the songs they're playing. They're so tight you can set your clock by them. Brandon Patton reminds me more than a little of Michael Schenker the way he effortlessly passes from metal to melodic and back again. And the rhythm section? Drummer Kirk Carrison and Bassist Duane Cowan can keep up with anybody out there, but speed isn't all there is to playing. Not to worry. They deliver the goods. Just listen to the last four cuts on this disc!

This band has released two near perfect records. I have no doubt the third will be a mind blower. They're only going to get better. I sit in eager anticipation.

A very polished, professional offering from one of my favorite metal bands. As Shadows Burn has deeply moving lyrics, amazing vocals, and powerful drumming. Followers of Echoes of Eternity will find this CD to be more "real" than the first one, in that it has less of a "engineered" studio sound, and more of a live performance feel. WONDERFUL!!!!!

Not jawdropping like their first album but this second by E of E is quite good. Solid and powerful sound, good clean presence and nice riffs. The lady singer may not sound as cool as in Forgotten Goddess but non the less her voice goes along fine with the tracks. I hope they will try to recapture the magic of that first album for the next one.
