Helpful and healing,

After my 44-year-old son died suddenly in November 2011, a friend suggested this book. I have since suggested to a couple of others who are grieving the loss or near-death of a family member, friend, or pet. Some books on the subject are sugar-coated platitudes, sanctimonious, "just get over it," or full of answers. This little book does not do that. It's comforting to read that it's okay to feel the pain. And that death is just another experience of life.The various quotes scattered between chapters are thought-provoking. "Thank you" to my friend who told me about "As Someone Dies." |
