As The World Burns review from MusicEmissions.com,
This review is from: As the World Burns (Audio CD)
The Arsonists consists of 5 very different individual rappers and the way they team up is second to none. They trade of lines and team up on others, and it is all as smooth as butta. All their styles are so different but the chemistry between them all is outstanding. They whip up some eerie background samples that are put together very creatively and they only add to the raps as opposed to taking away. Let's hope that this is the future of hip hop and the Arsonists lead the pack.

Albums like this is what I live for, and why I'm a lyricist. The Arsonists' (consisting of D-Stroy, Freestyle, Q Unique, Just One, and Swel Boogie) debut album "As The World Burns" is nice. Each emcee really has charisma, and that is what I like about them. They hold nothing back on the mic. This group is mostly surrounded by battle raps and off the head freestyling (cyphering). Two emcees really stand out to me in the group, are D-Stroy and Q-Unique. Some of the dope songs on here are "S*** Ain't Sweet" with a dope beat by Freestyle. "Pyromaniax" is also a nice and funny track here. Remember those days in high school and people would freestlye while someone was beating on the lunch table? (I know I do) The song "Lunchroom Takeout" is exactly that. A personal favorite of mine would be "Flashback" because every rhymes about how hip hop has influenced eachother. Other great songs on here would be "Blaze", "Sha-Boing" and the time traveling song "Rhyme Will Travel". A few things brought this album down for me: 1) Lack of variety- This group specializes in battle raps, so you're going to hear that in almost every track on this album thinking they're battling someone. 2) D-Stroy's 'spoken word' track "D-Sturbed Words" is just forgettable. But overall, this LP is awesome. If hip hop is something you live for or if you have a talent for it (rhyming, break dancing, grafiti spraying), or love independant hip hop, you'll like this album. Peace.Lyrics: A+ Production: A Guest Appearances: N/A Musical Vibes: A- Top 5 Tracks: 1.Flashback (personal favorite) 2. **** Ain't Sweet 3. Pyromaniax 4. Lunchroom Takeout 5. Rhyme Will Travel Honorable Mention: 1. Backdraft 2. Worlds Collide
