I've been a semi-solitary Asatruar for two years. Recently, a few friends of mine and I have decided to order this book so that we could have a more formal jumping-off point for larger, more elaborate rituals, and maybe even start our own kindred in time. However, while this book fulfills that job to a lesser extent, in that it does provide a great foundation for some blots, or a blot in general, it lacks blots for certain high feasts. It does have a blot for Ostara and Midsummer, but it does not have one for Yule. To me this is a HUGE loss to not provide a ritual for Norse Paganism's biggest and most important holiday, as well as other important holidays like: Freyfaxi, Winter Finding, Winter Nights, Mother Night, etc. While I understand that some festivals are more important to some than others, just as it was with our ancestors, these seem to beconsidered High Feasts across the board in the Asatru community, especially Yule and Winter Finding, and it's a shame to see them left out.

I purchased my copy for Yule in 2009. It has since been used and studied on many occasions. It's a very helpful tool for anyone starting out in Asatru, and has been indispensible as a reference tool. The rituals are simple, well explained and spiritually fulfilling. I'd recommend this book to any Folkish Asatruar Heathen no matter how long you've studied lore and the European folkway. Finding new and different ways to honor the Gods and Goddesses as well as your ancestors is something I'm sure they all appreciate. The book leaves plenty of room to cater the rituals to your needs as well as to whomever the ritual is for.
This book is perfect for the family friendly Heathen who wants to stay as far away from drunken orgy neopagan practices as humanly possible.
I was particularly moved by the Coming of Age rituals, and I look forward to the day my own son and daughter are old enough.

Whether you want a good Asatru ritual for most occasions, or whether you want the building blocks for developing your own rituals, you will find it in this book. An excellent resource which sets the foundation for quality Asatru ritual, it is a credit to the AFA and Stephen McNallen that they have released this for general usage. This is a must have resource for anyone needing sound, well constructed Heathen rituals, or who are developing their own rituals, and need direction and guidance.

When starting a kindred in my local area, I ordered this book as a reference to understand what other groups out there were doing. It was very informative as such, and allowed us to much more quickly form our own rituals, tuned to our specific beliefs, by basing them off of these. Thanks to the AFA, and the authors, for creating this reference.

I was so happy when I finally got this book in the mail, I somply couldn't help myself! I ripped open the package like a berserker!

This book explains the purpose and sanctity of the Blót, along with why ritual is so important to those that follow Ásatrú. I like this a lot. Other than that, there are many good, detailed blóts outlined in this book, along with very good, detailed Rites and Rituals.

Overall, I am very happy with this book, and it was certainly worth every penny that I paid for it. HIGHLY recommended for those whore are new to the religion of Ásatrú.

I chose this book as a review and handy dandy guide to the rituals we do. I would like to say that it should be in every Asatruar's library.Join the AFA.
