Book Description

November 23, 2006
When a beanstalk starts growing out of the rubble of the World Trade Center, chaos erupts in New York City. Jack Tott, a twenty-six-year-old musician, believes that if he climbs the beanstalk, he will somehow find the means to help save his dying sister. Caitlin Bingham, an archaeoastronomer, suspects that the beanstalk is related to the mysterious disappearance of Pachakutek, a planet she recently discovered.

But the lands and inhabitants in the world above the beanstalk are beyond anything Jack or Caitlin could have imagined. A strange cave, a huge thorn maze, a dapper five-foot-tall mosquito, a paranoid bird who is the last of his species, and an ancient Incan civilization are just part of the adventure that awaits Jack and Caitlin.

With a lightning-quick pace and basis in real events of the twenty-first century, The Ascendancy offers hope and a new mythology for the world at this volatile point in our history.

5.0 out of 5 stars One Wild Ride!, January 17, 2007

This review is from: The Ascendancy (Paperback)
John Weiskopf has really done it with this first volume of the Jacob's Bean series. What awaits the reader is a carnival ride of plot, intrigue, devastation, and hope. And yet, Mr. Weiskopf is more than just a good story teller he is a healer. The hope found in this book, and there is hope, is portable. And I for one am salivating at the thought of another book in the series.

The Ascendancy will take you on a great journey full of fun, fantasy and hope. I too felt very connected and familiar with the characters. You'll find yourself smiling throughout the book as the author introduces you to fascinating new friends during Jack and Caitlin's fabulous journey. The Ascendancy is an entertaining read that will keep you wondering what adventures lie in the pages ahead.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Celestine Prophecy for the 21st Century - Why are we here?, December 25, 2006
This review is from: The Ascendancy (Paperback)
The Celestine Prophecy for the 21st Century - Why are we here?

Are you philosophical? Do you wonder why we are here on Earth? Are you a seeker of wisdom and knowledge and do you LOVE a great read?

Solution: get this book TODAY! I would write more, today Christmas Day...but I must get back to reading Weiskopf -- John Weiskopf writes a great story with both HEART and SOUL. This is a new book, and it is already recommended reading for local schools. This is the second of many glowing reviews you will read about this book. I have been astonished and captivated by what I have found in the world of Jack and Caitlin...and in the "new way" I now see my world and the world around me as I read John Weiskopf's "The Ascendancy". Perfect for all ages.
