THE GOLDCRAFT BOOKS
THE DARKE LYFE TRILOGY: Michael Goldcraft has written three horror/mystery thrillers that make up the trilogy. All books are available as Kindle e-books or as autographed quality trade paperbacks available from www.brimbooks.com
Ascent of Evil is Tome I of the Trilogy.
Inherited Evil is Tome II of the Trilogy.
Arcanum of Evil is Tome III of the Trilogy.
With biologically-credible vampires and vampyres (there is a difference) as a central component, the trilogy is truly a multi-genre, big tale. Sure it's horror. But it is so much more. It's 1,300 pages (three books) of mystery, suspense, crime detection, court-room drama, science fiction (Crichton style), romance, sex, and thrills. The first and second books both won first place awards in the horror/dark fantasy category of the Royal Palm Literary Awards, Florida Writers Association, Orlando. The third novel, Arcanum of Evil, is in competition now. And, a script of the first novel, Ascent of Evil, is being reviewed by a major film producer as of July 14, 2012.
This isn't a vampire story for teenagers or young adults. It's a "thinking reader's" descent into a world of real vampire predators: an entire global race that has been responsible, for hundreds of years, for millions of unsolved crimes. It's a contemporary tale set in Panama City, Florida, Massachusetts, Romania, The Netherlands, and Suriname. But it's mostly in Florida. A small coastal city is threatened by a psychotic, egotistical, charming, cunning, cold, calculating vampire killer: Harrison Van Gilter. It's everything an intelligent reader wants, while gripping the arms of his chair and also trying to still hold the book in place. It's a page turner that one of the competition judges - who read the entire first novel - scored a perfect 50 out of 50 points.
While books I and II take place in 1997 and 1998, the final tome, Arcanum of Evil, jumps fourteen years forward. It begins on January 1, 2012, involves the predicted Mayan Day of Doom (December 21, 2012)and is a paranormal, horror, crime investigation thriller that includes reincarnation, cloning, Washington DC politics, a ruthless predator back for revenge, the powers of Hell, and evil on the Moon! It's a roller coaster ride of terror, mystery, sex, murder and mayhem.
Vampires are real, genetically-altered predators. Predators that evolved one thousand years ago. They are not mythological...they are real! And Lt. John Willoughby, PCPD Homicide and FBI Special Agent Mark Pierce have to find a way to capture and control one of the worst: Harrison Van Gilter! Because, with Harrison free to do what he's done for over 200 years, more blood will be lost and more lives will fade into a predatory oblivion. Time is running out.
THIRTEEN TALES OF ECLECTIC EVIL
Goldcraft's short story collection, Thirteen Tales of Eclectic Evil, is filled with every form of the unknown and packed with suspense and mystery. Vampires, ghosts, goblins, phantoms, pirates, shark attacks, serial killers, witches, and everything paranormal. It's a diverse tossed salad of terror.
COMING 2013: A NOVEL ABOUT REVENGE, HATRED, GOD, ATHEISTS AND THE UNIVERSE
Goldcraft is also at work on a thriller novel about a psychopathic astronomer.
It's a case of knowing too much, and losing everything that was important to this once-decent man. For Special Agent Mark Pierce of the FBI, it's one of the most baffling cases of his career. It's a mystery, thriller that's hard core crime, relentless passion, and a twisted tale that will keep readers guessing and flipping the pages, praying to get to the end before daybreak and they have to go to work.
