5.0 out of 5 stars I dont care if its just a 1 hit wonder...its just great...!!
Yeah, this may be the one and only song that they are ever known for, but I don't think that these people have the same record label backing and push that ..lets say the Shakiras and the Avrils and the Spears have...but when I first heard this song on the radio, the beat and the rhythm just jumped out at me.
I do not understand a word of it, I dont intend to. I just...

3.0 out of 5 stars PHENOMENAL, INDEED!
I really admire this song and its power to capture the whole world, after Mambo no.5. The latino beat what makes this song so great that you can't control your feet to dance on the floor. Asereje, though the meaning is not known to the public is adopted as part of the vocabulary of the people.

When you go to offices, malls, restaurants, or riding a jeep/public transpo,...

I do not understand a word of it, I dont intend to. I just like the music and I appreciate them for the sheer rhythm and harmony of what they have created...

Everyday, I see the media trying so hard to force "hits" out of mediocre performances...if these were three chicks from the US, I can guarantee you, record labels would be falling head over heels trying to sign them on... and calling them the next TLC ...and having them on Good Morning America and all that kind of fun stuff...

Lets admit it. This is one great song.

I can't understand a word of it, but that's what I love about it. There are so many songs that I only like after I learn that I like the lyrics. It is rare for me to like a song stictly for the beat. Even for those who don't like it, it will be stuck in their head because it is just so darn catchy!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Kethcup Song, October 24, 2002

This song is one of the largest fads of Europe and Latin America. It has a beat and rhythm to it equal to Hmmm Bop by Hansen - once it gets in your head you can't get it out and you can't sing the words. For one, it's gibberish and 2, you wouldn't want to remember them.

In modern ways it's replacing the Macerena. Watch the video, memorize the dance (hand jive) and you'll be set for the dance floors all over Europe.

Oh, and added feature. They're similar to Britney Spears... attractive.

When you go to offices, malls, restaurants, or riding a jeep/public transpo, Asereje is on the airvwave.

People like the Latino beat, not the R & B and too Western songs.

And there is a circulated news that Asereje means "devil" in Spanish. But to tell you, Asereje means "have you seen" in Brazilian. It is about Diego who wants to be the number one in the Friday night party. When those analysts claim the line of the song "el himno de las 12 para Diego la cancion mas deseada" is diabolic in meaning, well, it is natural for Diego to go home after 12.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great hit, October 30, 2002
This review is from: Asereje - Germany (Audio CD)
I'm a Spanish student, so the commercials for this song gave me a natural appeal. As stupid as "The Ketchup Song" sounds, "Aserejé" has a really appealing beat and has hit no. 1 in Latin America and all across Europe. I learned the Spanish words and the dance so I just can't get this song out of my head.

"Aserejé ja de je, de jebe tude jebere, sebiunouba majabi, an de bugui, and de buididipi..."

A must have for anyone who speaks Spanish or is learning it.

Love it or hate it. I spent my summer vacations in Mallorca, so I had to listen to this song 24/7.
Now it is No1 in each european country.
I love it.

4.0 out of 5 stars it's not spanish!, June 1, 2005

this catchy song, maybe a little dated by now, but still retains its appeal.
what i'd like to add is that the chorus is not sung in spanish. actually the song is about a flamenco guy who goes to a disco an ask the dj to play "rapper's delight' by sugarhill gang, and since he cannot speak english, that's what comes out: that "asereje" and "buguibugui" nonsense. that they managed to make that into such a catchy chorus, is no doubt a little musical triumph.
