Asher has laid out the book in an easy to follow style. I like that he gives more than one opinion on different styles and formulas for a good resume. His book gave me some great ideas. As a recruiter it is very helpful to have an insighful reference like this one.

Excellent companion to Rites of Passage,

Not for entry level or middle managers. It gives a very good explanation of what it takes to write an effective resume at the General Manager, VP, CEO level. The main body of the book is dedicated to present real examples (More than 200), of course the names and companies modified for confidentiality. Other chapters dedicated for Artists, Scientists, lawers etc.

I browsed this book and am buying it because it provides examples of how to write an executive resume. It has a large number of resumes with formatting that is top-notch. You will also find some excellent examples of how to strengthen your executive resume. It is not so much a "how to" book as a source of excellent resume examples for Director, VP, General Manager, and President level jobs.

I have used this book and found it to be a great concise resource. It's a good "how-to" book, suggestions then many examples. One can tell that Asher writes from great knowledge and experience.

Best examples of Resumes available,
By A Customer
This review is from: Asher's Bible of Executive Resumes and How to Write Them (Paperback)
I have read extensively in this subject and this book is the best by far in regards to examples. Normally books have at most a dozen examples; this has more than 100 hundred. The are based on real cases, so you get the chance to explore different stiles and find one that fits you. The same applies to fraises, key words, formats, etc. This book is recommended for management and high level positions, not for entry or middle level employees. My Resume, based on what I learned in this book, was praised by a top Headhunter in the country as very well written.

A lot of the same thing,
By Daniel Gochnauer (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Asher's Bible of Executive Resumes and How to Write Them (Paperback)
I was not exactly thrilled with this book. It seems that the author mearly published all of the resumes he has written for clients rather than show some different forms and styles. Granted, there are many ideas to be gotten out of the book, but I would have liked to see some variety in the styles of the resumes. They all looked much the same. I think "Executive Resumes" by Steven Provenzano has been a much more helpful resume book

A "Must Have" for Anyone with a Six Figure Income,
By A Customer
This review is from: Asher's Bible of Executive Resumes and How to Write Them (Paperback)
This is a terrific source of ideas for anyone putting together an executive resume. Most of the tips don't apply to middle management resumes. Author advises it is OK to not list certain positions held less than one year; I would not recommend this. Otherwise, an excellent source of ideas and advice. Everyone earning a six figure income should have this book in their library.
