Remastering a classic,
By
This review is from: Ashes (Audio CD)
This release remasters the classic "Ashes" LP that created what could easily be considered the first Goth-Metal recording. Rozz Williams was at his absolute best as he weaved stunning poetry around epic, cinematic rock. Valor Kand interpreted Rozz's words with amazing guitar fills, and razor-sharp chord structures. David Glass, Gitane Demone, and various fill-in musicians were 100% as well. An extra track was included with vocals by the late Rozz Williams; and like the Catastrophe Ballet re-release, it sounded like new music put to old vocal outtakes. The song in question ("Before the Rain") was still a nice companion to the song "The Luxury of Tears", but the music seemed abit forced. All in all, it was worth the price of the CD to be able to listen to it while enjoying a great remaster.
I will point out that Valor Kand did not write the lyrics. It was Rozz Williams.

Best Rozz and Valor Collabaration Underrated,
This review is from: Ashes (Audio CD)
"Ashes" the best Rozz and Valor Collabartion their was in my opinion. This album Is great it's diverse musically and every member of the band at the time got to pitch in. "Ashes" the first and title track is one great epic opener I love the drumming and the whole Rozz and Gitane duet thingy going on. I don't know why this wasn't compared to Rozz and Gitanes "Dream Home Heartache" But "Catastrophe Ballet" was?????? "Ashes part 2" the second track, is a great instrumental provided by Valor on guitar not too long not too short. "When I was Bed" However, sadly throws me off. it doesn't fit with the rest of the album and sounds like old people Liong King soundtrack crap. It woulda been better on a solo Rozz or Gitane Album. "the Luxury of Tears" is also a great powerfull Rozz and Gitane duet song that I like. This is my favourite Christian Death album featuring Rozz so it gets 4 stars but it's not a perfect album but it is way better than "Only Theater of pain" pains me to hear it, and "Catastrophe Ballet" It's a Catastrophe that album was released hahaha im joking those albums have good songs but their not as great as people say they are.
