She is sent to Venice where archaeologists have found an 800-year-old witch's skeleton in the city that invented the art of glassblowing in the past. The corpse is surrounded with seventeen glass slippers, and it is suggested that it might belong to the real Cinderella.

With the help of Loki, a Dreamhunter who enters dream of the immortal, they both follow a trail of evidence that leads them to the shocking origins of the Real Cinderella.

Series Description:

The Grimm Diaries are pages written in a Book of Sand, where each fairy tale character confessed the true stories once altered by the Brothers Grimm two centuries ago. 5.0 out of 5 stars History and Fairy Tale Come Together July 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this while reading, but after finishing and looking up the word moutza...my mind is blown. How cool to connect the word cinder ("moutzos" in Greek), a curse/ridicule traditionally used against suspected witches, and the story of Cinderella. And then there's the addition of the Venetian glassblowers...I'd actually read a book about glassblowers on Murano before, but I never knew that glassblowers were actually exiled to the island of Murano because of the threat of fires. I learned a lot, and it was so cool how it all tied in to the story/symbolism of Cinderella!

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed! February 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I didn't care much for this prequel. The Snow White one was better. I didn't care for any of the characters in this, the writing got worse (awkward, switched from past tense to present a few times, misspellings, etc), and while the story's origins was interesting, the plot just felt boring to me. I'm hoping I will like the next one better. Had higher hopes for the Grimm Diaries.

1.0 out of 5 stars needs an editor/painful to read July 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed the author's Snow White short story so for such a low price I figured I'd enjoy this too. The author needs to get an editor. The book is choppy, hard to follow and full of grammatical errors. Don't buy this it's a waste if you get it free or pay .99. The story is also akwatd when it comes to the flirting between the Grimm and what I believe is an angel (assumption made from intro since it is vastly unclear) I won't be reading the third prequel or the book. This was a painful read.

3.0 out of 5 stars needs work June 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
While the concept of this series is intriguing with a new twist on fairy tales, it does jump on the "fairy tales are true history" boat (which includes the excellent Sister's Grimm series). The writing in the Grimm Diaries Prequels is choppy at best and very disorganized. The author clearly needs an editor as she jumps from past to present tense within a single paragraph multiple times. If the plot was more organized and the writing cleaned up I would read more of this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Twist August 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
When I began reading this book, I was a little confused as to why they were at the grave of a witch when I assumed it was cinderella they were looking for. As the story progressed, I found myself understanding the plot more and enjoying it. The book is very discriptive and has wonderful detail. The dream hunter had a funny personality that also helped. You never knew what he was going to say. I would definently recommend this book to anyone. I love how you can literally feel like you are right in the middle of all of these books as you read them. They are all wonderful!

5.0 out of 5 stars ashes to ashes and Cinder To cinder June 24, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
These two prequels are very very short and serve to introduce a series which begins soon, I hope. I say this because I enjoyed the different darker take on familiar fairy tales. People who love the new television series "once Upon A Time" (and I'm one of them)know exactly what I mean by "different take." If the series fulfills the promise of the prequels, they will be very popular indeed.

More About the Author

I am honored to have three of my books on Amazon's Top 100 Customer Favorites in Kindle 2013. I don't even know how this happened, but it means you guys are awesome.

So, I am not a writer; I am storyteller. I write books I wish someone would have written, basically to amuse myself. Everything I do is for fun. And I have never felt like writing was the only thing I was meant to do. I just had an idea and jotted it down. It was full of mistakes and it was underdeveloped. But then I discovered there were many incredibly loving and helpful readers out there who liked it. I have learned so much since then and always work on improving my craft. I haven't been able to stop writing since then. It's addictive.

Other than that I'm the guy next door. I'm writing this wearing my pajamas, flip flops, and boxers. My life is complete. All I need is a Cuban cigar.
