4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read, August 19, 2007
This review is from: Ashes of Roses (Paperback)
I read the reviews for Falling for a Dancer which is the American title of this same book and saw the miniseries. The miniseries was very good. The book was also good and the above review is correct in stating you should read the book before you watch, it puts much in place. The only thing that I could complain about is that the main hero "Mossy" doesn't appear til page 120ish. Second, when the "good" comes of everything in the book at the end, it is rushed. Other wise a Mauve Binchy type read and very good.

I saw the mini-series and fell in love w/the storyline. Naturally the book is so much better. Suggestion, read the book then watch the mini-series. So much more depth and insight on the current events/people of the day. The stigma of being a single woman w/child and what one must go through to save "face". Having to marry a man you do not love and be subject to him because it is your duty and you are his property. So glad those days are gone (at least in some places). An entertaining read.
