This review is from: Ashes Of Yesterday (Paperback)
Ashes of Yesterday by Joyce McDonald Hoskins is a quick read because right away you are engaged with the characters and care about them and want to know what is going to happen. I have an adopted child, so this made me all the more interested in what was going to happen with adopted Sam, and his unfolding of early memories all wrapped into natural and adoptive parents and all that this entails. The characters are so tangled up together I was in awe of how the author managed this, and then I knew the answer, her characters wrote the book for her. It is a gift to be able to channel into fictional folks this way and Hoskins definitely has the gift.
