Amazing songs, amazing artists, hard to find tracks on CD!, December 19, 2007

Any CD that features songs by TATA VEGA, STEPHANIE MILLS, JENNIFER HOLIDAY, CHAKA KHAN, and more can't be bad. In fact, it's an amazing collection of songs all penned by Ashford & Simpson over the years and recorded over the decades by various artists - I've always loved MARLENA SHAW's jaunty, breezy take on CALIFORNIA SOUL, but never realized A&S wrote it - who knew? Also, is there a better disco song than THE BOSS - esp the "ad lib scat" vamp that only Miss Ross can pull off? Actually, she copied it from Valerie, who did it first!
