4.0 out of 5 stars Good Transition Book for the Series
Ive just finished reading Ashleigh's Dream for like the 3rd time and liked it more than ever! I though Cambell did an excellent job bringing in Samantha and the book was a very good transition in the series between Ashleigh and Samantha. Also, in the third time I've read this book I realized the connection between Ashleigh's Dream and Battlecry Forever. Good Job,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Book!
This was a good TB book, but WHERES WONDER! Shes the main horse, my favorite, for four books, then bam, she is, without and explanation, hurt and ppusheed out of the picture. I think a whole book could have been writen about Wonders injury, and retirement, and Pride too. Goddess and Sammy are great, but Ashleigh and Wonder are better. STill, this is a must for all TB...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Transition Book for the Series, November 25, 1999

Ive just finished reading Ashleigh's Dream for like the 3rd time and liked it more than ever! I though Cambell did an excellent job bringing in Samantha and the book was a very good transition in the series between Ashleigh and Samantha. Also, in the third time I've read this book I realized the connection between Ashleigh's Dream and Battlecry Forever. Good Job, Joanna! It puts an interesting twist to the story. Even though the current TB books are getting kinda bad, I'd reccomend this book to any fan of the series who misses the originality of the first books. I also reccomend this book to any horse lover or horse series lover. Ashleigh's Dream happened to be the first book I read in the Thoroghbred series and was the book that urged me to continue reading the series. Also, TB fans, don't lose hope. The new writers I'm sure are trying hard to satisfy everyone's wants for the series and thats why the new books are so sparratic and confusing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Meet Samantha, a beloved character in a series worth saving, February 16, 2005
A Kid's Review
After Wonder's victory in the Kentucky Derby, the Thoroughbred series really takes off - Ashleigh is a jockey, my favorite character in the series Samantha is introduced and Wonder gives birth to her very first foal. Plus, the focus is put on new horses such as Fleet Goddess. If you are a young equestrian or simply wish your world was a bit more horsey, this series is heavenly.

Unfortunately, Harper Collins has decided to end the series abruptly after #72. With such a dedicated following and online fan base with members from all over the world, this is a classic and beloved series that has inspired many people and provided horse fans with vicarious thrills and adventure. Ashleigh saved Wonder, now it's up to you to help save Thoroughbred. Go to www.whitebrookfarm.com and join the effort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, November 17, 2004
This review is from: Ashleigh's Dream (Thoroughbred) (Paperback)
Goddess is my fav horse in this series! Ashleigh buys her at an auction, and she needs someone to help train her. Kind of confusing, but overall good.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love Fleet Goddess!!!!!!!!!, December 23, 2003
By
Kirsten Wynn (I wish in a barn. None of your beeswax) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ashleigh's Dream (Thoroughbred) (Paperback)
This book is the most wonderful TB book I've ever read!!!!!!!!! If Fleet Goddess and Townsend Acres were real, then I would go running over there to see Goddess!! *Chuckles* In this book Ashleigh buys a filly name Fleet Goddess (duh). Wonder has had her foal, Wonder's Pride (yipee!!!) and has made friends with Samantha Mclean (sorry if I spelled it wrong). Sammy wants to ride again, but her dad won't let her 'cause her mom died in a riding accident. Then, Ashleigh can't keep training Goddess 'cause she got injured in a race. Sammy wants to train Goddess in her place, but her dad won't let her. Will there be a happidy ending? READ THIS BOOK I TELL YOU!!!!!! READ IT!! P.S. Sorry if I sound nuts, I'm hyper taday.

I really loved this book. It explaines how Sammy got to know Ashleigh. It's realistic, at least in my point of view. And on the sad parts I cried. It's a great book for horse lovers of any age.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hmn....no comment., August 8, 1999
By A Customer
This book was sort of slow, like a foal taking its first steps. Although this book was well written, when Samantha came in I found it a bit dull. Even if I really did want to ride Fleet Goddess I wouldn't disobey my father. In the book, Mr. McLean was trying to watch out for Sammy's best interest. I found that how Ashleigh was so warm to Samantha was very heartwarming. This book wasn't one of Joanna Campbell's better books, but after this book, the things with Sammy warm up a little. But there's one thing - Pride is just born in #5 and then he's a yearling in #6, and then a two year old halfway through #6??? Although #6 (Wonder's Yearling) was my favorite TB book, I found that how time was skipped a bit of a loss...... Lara P.S. : Ms. Campbell, please come back to writing the series! I hear you're the writer of #36 (Without Wonder) so keep on writing the books from then on! Thank you so much!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a really cool book!!!, June 30, 1998
By A Customer
"Ashleigh's Dream" was a great book. When I found out that Sammy's dad wouldn't let her ride because of her mom's accident, it made me sort of sad because she wants to ride more than anything in the world. So when her dad leaves town, she decides to take a chance. Sammy will help Ashleigh train Fleet Goddess by riding Dominator. When her father overhears some grooms from TA say that Sammy is riding again, he is worried and furious that Sammy is riding and returns home immediately. If you want to find out what happens next, read Thoroughbred #5-Ashleigh's Dream. I think you will be pleased with the end of the book. Happy reading, horse fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
