Looks like Ashley Wood got roped in to create more concept art for Metal Gear Solid, in his own style.

The book I have is a white paperback cover instead of the brown one shown on Amazon (left image), not that it makes any difference.

It collects art from Ashley Wood's graphic novel adaptations of Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty. Additionally, it also has art created for the Metal Gear Solid: Mobile Portable Ops video game.

It brings a combination from the comics to metal gear's portable ops if u played the game you'll know or if u seen the comics, there is no dialoge attached just the beautiful arts, must have for fans.

Ashley woods artwork is so unique and just insane to look at.
Abolutely a great inspiration and one of the best artbooks I have seen.
His artwork is like an orchestrated symphony of chaos and beauty just really very cool. Amazing show of talent.

the book is cool but the the cover is a white one and has a different picture on the front. My only other complaint is that even i knew it was going to be 120+ pages it still feels kinda small, but for the price its worth it.

I would say in my opinion, but its basically a fact. Ashley Wood is hands down one of the best artists out there today. Hes got a different style that is original and not really seen much these days. This book consists of the already awesome characters from Metal Gear Solid, just done in a whole new way. Buy it there is no way you'll regret it, in fact buy the actually Metal Gear Solid graphic novel. Its a good story line with great art.

Ashley Wood is fairly new to me and I've been inspired by his art style. Love his work and will continue to enjoy his arts.

Fans of Metal Gear Solid who appreciate art, this is the book to buy. You are introduced to one of the concept artists behind of the best games out there: Ashley Woods. One look at the first page, you see where Metal Gear Solid gets its mood and energy from. I must emphasize the word "energy." This is Ashley Wood's style; full of energy and kick-butt. If you're looking for a different style of concept art, I would highly recommend this book.

Maybe not all the illustrations are original paintings, but are pages from the comic books or covers.....who cares??? Wood is Wood, if you like him.

Ashley Wood, the driving force behind the two Metal Gear Solid comic books series, as well as the work behind the movies in the PSP game Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, gives us a collection of their fine work from all three of the previously mentioned material.

When I received my book, I realized that, much like fellow Amazon user Parka, I too had a white cover. However, I've realized that I enjoy that cover better than I do the one displayed on the Amazon info page.

The book is 120 pages of, as I said, the finest work Ashley Wood has ever done (in my opinion). The pictures are semi-split into "sections".. For instance when you see a picture of Solid Snake, the next few pages are more than likely going to include pictures of Solid Snake. The way the book itself is, is great. The size of it is great, larger than a normal book.. The only way I can desribe the size is that it's about the same size of a video game strategy guide.

The cover, while not hard, isn't paper thin either. It's very sturdy, and could probably hold up to normal wear and tear fairly well (only time will tell, though). The pages inside are also fairly thick, and don't show finger-prints or anything of the things fellow art book aficionados fear. The pictures come through vibrant, clear, and even the pictures that have been "resized" to fit the page length look brilliant.

Say you have no idea what Metal Gear Solid is, nor have heard of the comics, yet you're a fan of Ashley Wood? I would tell you to pick this book up, because as I've said, in my honest opinion it is Ashley's finest work. However, to the fans of the comics, and even the fans of just the game? This is a must-have for your book shelf. The size, image quality, and price are all great. You will not regret it, and you will come back to look at it time and time again.
