If you're expecting Shakespeare, turn around. Glitter isn't Shakespeare. She's not even Shakespeare's father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate. What she is, however, is fun. Glitter might not be the absolute best at writing satire, but you won't be bored while reading this.
Story? Forget the story. The purpose of this short book isn't to create a story but to create a framework for the shock value. As expected, Ashton Kutcher goes on a rampage, killing each puppy prince as they're born. The only one who can stop him is Meow Solo, one of the more depraved heroes in outer space.
I think I had just as much fun reading this out loud to my friends as I did reading it. Part of the thrill is watching people's reactions when they see the cover and title, as well as their groans and eye rolls as you highlight particularly cringe worthy sections.
This book will never win a Newberry, but Glitter's work is definitely worth checking out at least once. So why not this one?
