5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent source for ideas
I love this book because it doesn't spell out every step, but allows you to apply your own creativity. But, this same feature might make it a little difficult for beginners.
I still highly recommend the book because so many of the techniques can be applied to totally different projects.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Book for Craft Oriented Or Home Sewer Markets Only, January 17, 2010
This review is from: Art to Wear with Asian Flair (Paperback)
There are two different camps in wearable art, the home sewer-crafter group and the artist group. This book definitely covers only the home-sewer crafter group and will not satisfy those who want to become wearable artists, producing works fit for art galleries, art museums and major art to wear fashion shows. However, for a young person just starting out in making his or her own clothes and accessories, it may be too early to tell which camp he or she will ultimately join. Thus, the book is good for this person too. This is a project oriented book with good pictures and instructions to take one through doing the particular project. The author is most successful with her vests at the end of the book. I am in the artist camp of wearable art so this book does not fit me very well. I find the books which cover the work of Issey Miyake or Comme des Garcons far more suitable for my interests. This does not mean this book is not good but it does mean that if you are also in the artist camp, you are probably not going to find this book worth the money. I took it out from the library and if you are an artist, I suggest you do the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful book, October 13, 2004

I would really suggest this book to all those who love to quilt or embellish with an Asian theme. It is easy to understand and follow instructions.
