5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most talented bands ever!
I absolutely love the Ask Anybody album! Pop music hasn't seen this much talent in a long time. The infectious tunes range from unique sounds once heard from The Beatles and The Beach Boys. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not too great
I got it for Hey Now Now which is the only really good song on the CD, the other being Candy in The Sun. I was kind of disappointed, and if I had to do it all over I wouldn't get the CD.

These brothers are definetely not another example of pop music's "one hit wonder" problem. With their amazing songwriting skills, great voices, and guitar playing, there is no doubt in my mind that Denny and Kenny Scott are one of the best things to happen to music since The Beatles!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cd from two brothers with awsome voices, July 3, 1999

These two guys are awsome. Denny and Kenny Scott really know how to sing and shread the guitar. This cd is a variety of different kinds of music. If you want some plain rock and roll songs, you will like Candy in The Sun and Hey Now Now. If you like slow songs, you will like There. This cd rules. My favorite sons are, Ask Anybody, Candy in The Sun, Hey Now Now, There, and Stick Around. This cd, 5 stars, without a doubt.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Guiltiest of Pleasures, January 18, 1999
This review is from: Ask Anybody (Audio CD)
Hanson comparisons are inevitable and not completely without merit. However, the comparison that seems much more accurate is to NELSON, that late 80's flash in the pan that had the ultra-poppy "(I Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection."

Like Nelson, you've got two brothers with silky smooth voices and the ear for a catchy hook. Unlike Nelson, however, Swirl 360 has managed to piece together an entire album of high quality pop.

If "high quality pop" is an oxymoron to you, if you think POP simply cannot be good, then you should stay away. If you've been waiting for a reason to think that pop CAN BE (but rarely is) a fun reason to turn on the CD player, then you should really give SWIRL 360 a chance. It is a gem in the crown of guilty pleasures.

This review is from: Ask Anybody (Audio CD)
i heard 'hey now now' when it was released in th UK ages ago, i always loved the song and the gorgeous brothers! the album did not disapoint me either! the best songs have got to be 'candy in the sun' 'hey now now' and 'ask anybody'. yes the music does sound a little hansonish, but its got such a pretty sound to it, it can really make you smile. its perfect summer radio music, the guys have got got gorgeous voices too. its got almost an 80s kind of sound, but in a good way. buy this is if you like to dance to fresh summary music all year round,

Although no new ground was broken here, I still liked it. The music is quite infectious and fun. The lyrics range from serious to campy. My favs are: "Hey Now Now"- What isn't to like about this one? Rockin' video too! "There"- Nice ballad, good melody. "Rewind"- Really cool, great bridge and transition after second verse. "Forget You Too"- Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved? You decide. Mellow with acoustic guitar. Overall, this is a CD worth owning. Looking forward to some new stuff. Peace

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST CD EVER!!!, August 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Ask Anybody (Audio CD)
This album is the best album I've heard in my life!!! I've had it in my collection for a little under a year, and I'm still not sick of it, even though I listen to it nearly every day. It's just one of those cd's that you can listen to over and over again, and you'll always discover new things, like double-meanings in the lyrics, new harmonies in the background, or you just suddenly discover what they actually sing, and what their lyrics are about. Also the fact that their songs are not all about lovey-dovey stuff, but also friendship and having fun. It's obvious that they've spendt a lot of time on each song, and come up with new things to add along the way. They've also got a lot of humor in their songs (<< And I never wanna have to say no, 'cause if you were a radio I'd never turn you down >> - "Ask Anybody" ). It's impossible to find ONE song that you can call THE BEST, and this is one of very few albums where all the songs are GREAT, and you don't have to start skipping to the next song because it's better. Since I bought this album "Hey now now", "Ask anybody" "Forget you too" and "Summer of love" have all taken turns being my favourite song, and right now "There" is the song I listen to the most. If you haven't allready got this album, GO GET IT NOW!!! You won't regret, I promise. If it was possible, I would have given a lot more than only five stars!!!!! + They are just as brilliant live as on cd!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars From a 2006 Perspective..., April 8, 2006
This review is from: Ask Anybody (Audio CD)
Always on the lookout for overlooked power pop discs, I picked this up as a bargain-bin experiment on the advice of one of the Amazon list-makers, and it's well worth whatever the used price is this month.

From a mid-00s perspective, the pop-group-of-the-nanosecond comparisons you'll read below are even more dated than they seem. Yes, the pop hooks stick out all over the place, but this is not the pure, icky bubblegum of Hanson. There's enough crunch in the guitars to put the power in this power pop. A clutch of tunes stand out, but "Rewind" has made it to the top of my most-played-list on iTunes.
