If you analyze the games in a casino you’ll find that all of them have a winning ratio in favor of the house. But you’ll also find that Blackjack has the smallest percentage going to the house. That means that the opportunity for a knowledgeable player to know when to bet so as to take advantage of the odds when they are in his favor. Note the words knowledgeable player. The rules of blackjack seem very simple and I won’t go into them here, but be sure you when it is time to double down, split or insure. And if words like these are not familiar to you, learn about them.

This little book, quite fun to read by the way, tells how a near professional plays the game. Still he keeps it as a game, not some kind of contest where rewards go to cheaters and the like. I especially liked his comments on card counting. This is almost exactly what Edward O. Thorp - the father of card counting - told me in a conversation many, many years ago. I think Dr. Blackjack knows what he is talking about and also knows how to write a good book.

I have been playing for years with my luck seeming to come and go. After reading this book I was not only able to see the things I was doing wrong, but able have fun doing it. There are parts in the book where the stories and tips are so interesting and funny that you forget your reading a how-to kind of book.

Author is a genius! One the best book I have ever read.

I love playing blackjack. I have read a lot of blackjack strategy books - and one thing they all have in common is that they're too complicated to pull off when you actually go to the casino. This book, on the other hand, has several really basic rules to follow and a modified basic strategy. The anecdotal stories are hilarious. Very easy read.

I can't believe so much useful information can come out of such a small book. And it's even written in a way that I can understand it. I tried his methods and they work. The stories are hilarious. I can recommend this book if you want your game to pick up.
