I listen often on my daily commute,

Too bad the other reviewers thought the CDs were different from the book. I bought them because I wanted to listen to the same material while I drive to work and back each day. The material is outstanding -- some of the very best I have every heard or read on the interplay between thoughts, emotions, and everyday experiences. I listen to these CD's often to help me retrain myself to dwell on thoughts that feel good instead of getting into negative loops. Changing our habitual thought patterns is challenging, but it is quite possible. Hope you enjoy them as much as I am!

Another system,

This audio series (as Part II) is welcomed. There are times - walking, knitting, cooking - that I can't read and I could be using those times to have an uplifting experience. I did not, like the other reviewer, have some strange idea that it would be different than the book. It has the same cover and title and it never advertised itself to be more. I own the book also, and as I loved that, I thought I would get this. It serves its purpose and I thank the authors for providing it.

Manifestation for the rest of us: Hands-on guidance to put theory into practice,
By Spiritual IT Professional (Reston, VA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ask and It Is Given - Part II: The Processes (Pt.II) (Audio CD)
I loved this audiobook because it gives you clear hands-on guidance on how you can put into place all the things that were presented in the first book "Ask and It Is Given". Even though many books on this topic (e.g. The Power of Intention by Dr. Wayne Dyer) are very clear on the fact that you need to manifest what you want in your life in a positive way, we all tend to sabotage ourselves no matter how good our intentions are. This audiobook provides 22 processes (= games / applications) that you can use to manifest the things you want in life, even if you're an angry or highly negative person. The audiobook provides guidance on which situation and desired outcome each of the 22 different processes are most suitable for. I put some of the easier ones into practice and already notice how my attitude and outlook on life have changed. I can only recommend this audiobook to anyone who is serious about wanting to manifest better and bigger things in life but doesn't know how to go about it. This audiobook might as well have been called "Manifestation for Dummies", it is that clear and hands-on!

What do you want? Joy? Happiness? Money? Fulfilling relationships? I've tried many workshops, books, classes, even a social work degree, but none have made attaining the things I want in life as easy or fun as Abraham has in this set of CDs. As Jerry Hicks reads the information, you are guided through 22 fun and effective exercises or processes to use to attain all your desires. Fun and Effective! And I really enjoy his voice.

The message of this audio is an absolute 5 out of 5 stars, but the audio is read very fast and for me, it was difficult to process what is being said. I have the book and have read it several times and refer to it often. I purchased the audio so that I could enjoy the message on my way to work. For me, I would have preferred the audio to be read slower and maybe discussed a little. However, if you are not one to read, then by all means, get the audio, for the message is very powerful.

"Ask and It Is Given" ... on Speed,
This review is from: Ask and It Is Given - Part II: The Processes (Pt.II) (Audio CD)
I LOVED the book, have read it several times, and I pick it up every day in fact in the way others use the Bible. I ordered the cd so that I could listen to it in the car and on my Ipod for daily inspiration. I'm wildly disappointed to report that it is read sooooooooooooooo fast that I can barely comprehend it -- this from someone already completely familiar with the book. I've never heard an Audio book read more quickly; it's like the author is speed reading it. I couldn't be more disappointed.

As a few other reviewers wrote, I also have the book and was surprised that the cd was Jerry reading the words. However, I enjoy being reminded of the principles and the practices. The second time I listened, I heard something in a brand new way that has made all of the difference. The CD can go with you in the car (reading a book is not recommended while driving) And, I heard the "breakthrough" idea listening while doing the dishes!

We've all heard about the power of positive thinking and that what the mind can conceive you can achieve. This cd is very practical. It actually explains how- how it works and how to turn your situation around. The teachings affirmed both my Buddhist practice and what my friend learned in her Christian workshops.

Attention Jerry!,

This review is from: Ask and It Is Given - Part II: The Processes (Pt.II) (Audio CD)
First let me say that the BOOK 'Ask and it is Given' has changed my life. Truly, the ideas and understanding of how life works which is expressed in the book of this title is profound and absolutely life-changing. For that I am eternally thankful that it managed to cross my path at the perfect time (early '05) when I was ready for it.
The Audio form of the book, however, is a different story, sad to say. Although it contains the same words, it suffers from the incumbrance of Jerry Hick's drab, expressionless, speed-reading-on-steroids delivery. Jerry, I mean no disrespect. I am sure you are quite talented and very capable in many other areas of your life. But please take the hint of so many reviewers of the Abraham audio material and PLEASE DON"T READ! It's like someone trying to play music without having any natural ear and feel for it... it's painful! When I first encountered the book, it wasn't long before I realized it demanded to be read SLOWLY, to give frequent pause so that the ideas expressed could sink in and take root within my soul. That is how this book should be verbally delivered. That is the nature of potent ideas in words. But instead, Jerry just rattles on like it was a contest to see how quickly he can get through the blessed thing. He sounds so disconnected to the ideas that are coming out of his mouth it's like he doesn't even comprehend what he is saying. It sounds more like someone hurredly reading through IRS codes ... zzzz zz zzzzzzz zzz zzzzzz zzz LOL! Seriously, this material is much too important and valuable to be sabotaged by such an ill-suited delivery, and frankly, given the high quality of their content, I'm really surprised that Esther and Jerry would put out something as monotonous to the ear as this. Why don't they find someone who has a natural gift for verbal communication? Esther perhaps? She is quite dyanmic when she is channeling Abraham as the delivery flows with the content and gives the pauses that are needed for reflection. The sad thing is that many new people may not get the real benefit from the ideas in 'Ask and it is Given' if their first encounter is with this audio book, because they probably won't last long enough to even get through the first disc. My advice: Forget the audio but definately get the book: The book is phenomenal -as are the other audios of Esther's channelling of Abraham. These ideas truly are the Keys to the Kingdom. And let's hope Esther and Jerry care enough about what they're putting out there to read these reviews! |
