Real Singing for Real Music Fans, March 24, 2000

I think it's too bad that contemporary musicians have screwed with their audiences sensibiities so much that this type of artist goes unrecognized by the general audience. That, of course, has always been the case for the majority of jazz artists, to remain relatively obscure, however, you just wish that things could be different, especially when an artist comes along and displays such great technical command, dynamic range, emotional depth, and exquisite taste. Ms. Montgomery shows all that and more with this album. Her work rings with the kind of sincerity not found very often on the "charts." The average music buyers don't know what they're missing!
