I am giving this five stars because it makes a great family game night game. My kids like this game a lot .It is easy to learn .Easy to set up and put away .My kids are 10 & 7 .Great tool for teaching planning and strategy .I only have a few nit picks .The game board does not sit even on the table. Making it easier for the a fore mentioned knock over mishaps. Also some of the planks that came with the game don't lay flat .Adults who are looking for a hard core game will want to pass on this one. I feel kids will get the most enjoyment out of the game . As I have found myself rolling my eyes at "Let's play river dragons!!!!"Other wise I am very happy with the game.

I really like River Dragons. It is a nice interactive game for kids and some adults. River Dragons is a reimagining of the game Dragon Delta. Players are trying to cross a river with stones and planks. Players choose five actions, per a round, based on what they hope to do that round and take turns flipping them over and completing the action. These actions included laying stones, placing planks, moving, jumping over other players, and stealing a stone or a plank. The fun happens when your plans get thrown off by another player's choices. The name and art work is a little deceptive as there is no real dragon in the game only a dragon cards that a player can play as an action to cancel another player's action.

There is a lot of strategy for little minds as they must plan their path ahead of time and be able to make adjustments as those plans go awry. The are a few elements that make this a challenge.

1. Once a stone is placed it can not be moved only removed.
2. Once a player picks up a plank they must use that plank. If for some reason that plank is to short they lose that plank for the rest of the game.
3. The board is double sided. One side has stone artwork to give you an idea where stones might work fro crossing.
