5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a Law Student
This is probably the most comprehensive construction law book I have ever read. It is an absolute must for a law student taking construction law.

I recieved my book and there are pages missing. Page 518-551 are gone. I have called your company three time to have this issue resolved but everytime I am told the computers are down and that they cannot look at my account. This has been the worst buying experience. I am trying to take a class and missing these pages is really messing me up. I expect somone to fix...

First, I am not a lawyer, but a praticing design/ contruction professional. I have used this book for years. I find it very well written and easy to use. I have loaned it to so many lawyers when thing get tight that I don't remember all of them. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has to deal with contracts and construction. When things start to go sour, its a great resource for all parties involved.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Construction Management Law Text Ever, November 30, 2011

Written by an artisan of his craft. This should be the first book in a construction manager's library. The book is a fantastic reference for a national company or a local builder. Sweet walks you through the history and evaloution of the concepts, peppers them with real court decisions and analysis, applies them to today's enviornment, advises you of the current trends and tacitly invites you to join the discussion. I only wish I had the current edition. Required text for Western Carolina University's Master of Construction Management degree program.

5.0 out of 5 stars Massive law textbook, March 11, 2010

This review is from: Legal Aspects of Architecture, Engineering, and the Construction Process (Hardcover)
I bought this book for an undergraduate construction course (I'm a civil engineering student). If you have never read a law textbook, you should really brace yourself when reading this book. It is a massive textbook that contains many principles in law and how they relate to construction. When you read it, you can really get overwhelmed because there is so much material. That being said, it is an excellent textbook; it covers just about all of the legal aspects that engineers need to consider in the construction industry and I believe that any person in the construction industry should consider reading this book (considering the fact that the industry is flooded with bankruptcies, lawsuits and disputes).

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, November 21, 2007
This review is from: Legal Aspects of Architecture, Engineering, and the Construction Process (Hardcover)
We used this book for our senior level construction law class and it was a fantastic textbook. I feel that the reading was very thorough when presenting topics and the homework problems really reinforced the reading. This is a great text to own, especially when dealing with a professor who likes to throw a whole lot of back and forth debate with the class. *A must for anyone entering the construction insutry* -M.

1.0 out of 5 stars WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too complicated, May 13, 2003
By A Customer
If you happen to be studying construction law IN LAW SCHOOL, then this is your book.

If, on the other hand, you are in the construction business and are looking for a practical book on construction law, keep looking. This is not your book. It is extremely difficult to read and Sweet writes in such a sophisticated manner that it borders on arrogance. It's not uncommon to find entire paragraphs that consist of one sentence. I found myself scratching my head and asking, "what in the hell did he just say?" Re-reading convoluted law text is not fun.
