Aspects' patented Clear View RollerFeeder¿ is equipped with a clear Lexan¿ hopper and roof, so both birds and seed level are easy to see. It offers backyard birders an exciting feeder that works on three levels. It is a terrific hopper feeder for small birds, it is squirrel proof and it is just plain fun to watch. This ingenious design truly frustrates hungry squirrels and saves valuable food for birds. The feeder is elegantly simple - a freely rotating outer shell surrounds an easy-to-fill hopper. The hopper is stationary, but when a squirrel climbs onto the outer shell, the squirrel's weight flips it harmlessly to the ground. The two-sided seed hopper stays upright inside while the exterior shell pivots around, keeping the seed intact. Rollerfeeder's weight-balancing feature allows the smaller and lighter songbirds like chickadees, nuthatches, finches and titmice the ability to feed uninterrupted in a safe, easy to maintain, covered feeder. Also, heavier birds will tilt the RollerFeeder just enough to prohibit them from feeding from the tray.

We bought this feeder because it said it would also keep squirrels and nusiance birds (grackles, etc.) from eating al the feed. Well...it took the grackles about two days to figure it out and now they empty it in about an hour, even after removing all the counter weights. If you only have squirrel problems, this feeder works great. If you also have grackle and jay problems, forget it...get something cheaper.

Purchased this as xmas gift. Have tried everything directions said to keep squirrels at bay. Here in new hampshire squirrels are awful smart, I guess. At any rate they quickly learned that when they jump on it, it spills seed and they got it. Smaller red squirrels actually went inside and ate seed!! I wouldn't recommend this feeder. Maybe i'll get a video of the fun and send it in.

I live in North Central Florida and have 2 Roller Feeders and they absolutely are squirrel proof. I've looked for over 20 years for a feeder that the squirrels won't empty and this is it. It's hilarious to see the squirrels jump or climb down to it and see them fall to the ground. It only takes a couple of falls for them to stay clear. Now all the feed goes to the birds.
