5.0 out of 5 stars Tony Atwood's "Apserger's Syndrome" video, September 27, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Asperger's Syndrome Video [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video arrived at just the right moment. I was explaining my son's condition to teachers, school admistrators, youth group leaders, etc. What I could no longer do was act as my husband's educator on this disorder. This 3 hour video clearly lays out the aspects of the disorder, what one can and can not do to help the child with this condition. But, most importantly, it is a wonderful reminder to my husband and me that many of the stresses in our son's school life and our family life arise from something my son can not help, nor is even aware of. And, for us, it's important to realise that this is not a result of poor or inadequate parenting. Parents of AS children need to keep making these distinctions clear in order to keep plugging away. Tony Atwood is an excellent speaker and speaks to this topic with insight, intelligence and compassion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tony Attwood Workshop Video, March 30, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Asperger's Syndrome Video [VHS] (VHS Tape)
While not specifically mentioned in the title on Amazon.com. ,this 3 hour video (two tapes) is a workshop presented by Asperger Syndrome expert, Tony Attwood. Dr. Attwood, author of the wonderful book, Asperger's Syndrome: A Guide For Parents and Professionals, is well-known for his seminars and workshops on AS.

I highly recommend this video for parents and professionals. In my opinion, this video should be required viewing for anyone who works with AS children.

This is the best available resource on Asperger's with timeless insights. Tony brings logic and understanding to some of the more puzzling aspects of Asperger's Syndrome.

Definately a resource that both parents and professionals will find themselves reaching for time and again. Very good for in-service programs, too!
