4.0 out of 5 stars Relaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaxing Instrumental Melodies, May 30, 2000

This review is from: Aspirant Sunset (Audio CD)
Part 2 of Wakeman's 1990 SUN TRILOGY, this is basically more of the same-- beautifully soothing instrumental synthesizer music, designed to help you relax, relieve stress, or sleep. I daresay this could also be recommended as "music to make love by". (Certainly moreso that, say, Led Zeppelin...) Also check out ASPIRANT SUNRISE, ASPIRANT SUNSHADOWS and for more in a similar vein, VISIONS.

5.0 out of 5 stars Drifing Across The Sea of Tranquility, December 26, 2005
This review is from: Aspirant Sunset (Audio CD)
One of the best New Age ambient albums ever composed. While listening to it (of course not while you driving a car, but probably at the end of the day) you could imagine yourself riding your battleship through the "Sea of Tranquility" of (far from the city) hearing "Whispering Cornfields". The music would help you to relax, to keep the warmth in your soul (and so it would help you to live). Rick Wakeman works here like a landscape painter (say J. Turner). You could return to this album (like to the paintings of Turner) a week, a month or even a year later and find something new.

By the way, 300 000 listeners bought this and two other albums of "Suntrilogy".

If you like this CD - try "Aspirant Sunrise" and "The Natural World Trilogy".

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Music, May 12, 2011
This review is from: Aspirant Sunset (MP3 Download)
Of course Rick Wakeman with Yes was great, but I love it when Rick Wakeman lays back on the fast playing..and plays melodies like the ones found on this album.

Highly recommended.... I found on Amazon mp3......music artist : Surreal Realm

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best New Age music Wakeman has produced, January 15, 2009
By
This review is from: Aspirant Sunrise (Audio CD)
The title says it all. This is Wakeman at his New Age best. I could play the three Aspirant CDs non-stop for the rest of my life and not feel bored or tired of hearing the smoothly consistent musical progressions.
Neither wild nor earth shatteringly innovative but I don't believe it was intended to be either.
It is cool water to the troubled soul, comfort food for the ears and warm, comfortable love from a one of the best keyboard composers and musicians of our generation.
