Asrock Ion 330 is a good home theater PC. I have it for a week. I have tested out these features:
1. It is quiet. I reloaded the BIOS to default, which means the system fan is low. It was overclocked when it came. It turns out I did not need to overclock it for any tasks. 2. I installed Vista 32bit on it. I used the driver CD, everything worked perfectly. 3. Vista show 4 cores. I have Aero on. There is no lag when I have several browser windows open with some video playback applications. 4. I installed the current NVIDIA drivers 257.21. Adobe Flash 10.1. Hulu and Youtube worked perfectly. Yes, HD flash playback is smooth. 5. DVD video playback is smooth. For audio, the analog 7.1 output has some popping noise. The optical audio output works perfectly. 6. I used Windows media center, Boxee, XBMC. The remote worked with all of them. 7. The built-in WIFI works fine, but I prefer CAT5 since I have it. This is all I needed from my HTPC. I know the NVIDIA ION can play games, but I will leave it to my gaming PC. The form factor is perfect. I looked for components to build on my own, it would cost about than $1000.

It's a very powerful machine for its size. Also, you'll recoup your cable costs in approx 6 months.
