5.0 out of 5 stars Started what is now a legacy
Ive been down with NL ever since I heard the album 'TRU 2 Da Game.' Needless to say, after hearing one of the finest albums ever orchestrated I began my NL hunt. Big 'The Assassin' is by far one of the most underated and unspoken of albums ever released under the label. 3.0 out of 5 stars I actually feel this
Big Ed isnt the average No Limit member. He has more lyrical style and a smoother flow. This may not be the album for you, but for some it may be.

Ive been down with NL ever since I heard the album 'TRU 2 Da Game.' Needless to say, after hearing one of the finest albums ever orchestrated I began my NL hunt. Big 'The Assassin' is by far one of the most underated and unspoken of albums ever released under the label. Its KLC produced beats master the art of rap and demonstrate why NL was on top from 96'-99.' If you wany my advice, pick this album up. It might be expensive now because its old and Big Ed passed away, but nonetheless it's worth every penny. Look out for tracks such as 'My Entourage,' 'Make Some Room' 'Rodeo.' It doesn't stop there. If youre a hardcore fan of the old NL, (96-99) then this is a must. KLC beats and P's hardware, this CD bangs no matter where you are.

If it aint in your trunk, it ain't crunk

Master P has many soliders on the tank but not many have the talent that the assassin has. Big Ed has been in this rap game for years. Big Ed has been Tru forever. This album was a big hit in my book, that needs to be looked at. I can't wait for the next release from Big Ed

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 Stars! One of No Limit's Best!, February 20, 2009
This review is from: Assassin (Audio CD)
Big Ed's death has made it a little easy to click on the 5 star button when reviewing his CDs. I mean no disrespect to the man and his legacy and I actually consider it compliment to the man to give him a strong 4 star rating for his first solo. The CD runs a tad bit on the long side, but it bumps through and through thanks to a strong showing from Beats By The Pound and all the guest rappers. Possibly a way to thank him for his years of service, Master P gave Big Ed the arsenal needed and Big Ed delivered.

His style and flow is more straight forward than other tank soldiers, but on tracks like "Assassin" and "Life" Big Ed showed he had lyrics and flow. The posse cuts here are as strong as on any NL CD, with Fiend and Mystikal putting forth particularly strong appearances. Even Snoop Dogg joins the party at one point.

This is one of the better NL releases out there and definitely worth a purchase if you come across it.

5.0 out of 5 stars R.I.P. Big Ed the Assassin!!!, July 31, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Assassin (Audio CD)
Big Ed was one of the best rappers from No Limit and from the west coast. He was one of the original members of TRU and he died in August of 2001 from cancer. You gone but you ain't forgotten. R.I.P.
