5.0 out of 5 stars Real Death Metall!, February 23, 2006

This review is from: Assassination (Audio CD)
I have been a Krisiun fan since 2000 when they were releasing Conquerours of Armaggedon and after all these years Im still impressed with the band's music and they are kepping their brutal sound in every release!
After their latest record - Bloodshed - they have changed a little bit. Ive read an interview with the guys and they said the were trying to make something different from all death metal bands. Cause today every band just wanna play fast and then forget the meaning of what real death metal is. Playing fast doesnt mean you are playing an evil and brutal music!!! And this was what they tried to do with Krisiun's songs. Not that Krisiun werent brutal and evil before but they are trying to put more 80's feeling in the songs!
The songs now arent fast all the time there are more groovy in it and I must say they never sounded so brutal and dark before!!
Buy it now if you are a real death metal fan!

5.0 out of 5 stars 100% Pure Hatred, Death, Power and Speed, May 13, 2006
This review is from: Assassination (Audio CD)
Assassination is not of this world! I think it was created by some
ancient evil being! THIS IS AS GOOD AS DEATH-METAL GETS PEOPLE.
I have been a Krisiun fan since "CONQUERORS OF ARMAGEDDON" and I have always been impresssed with their level of technical precision
and feirce agression at mind-blowing speeds. But they have truly outdone themselves with Assassination.
It is quickly becoming my favorite Deathmetal album and I dont think I will ever get bored with it.
The steering wheel in my car might need to be replaced soon from me smashing my fists on it while "Air-Drumming" to Assassination!
GREAT WORK KRISIUN!!!

This is the first album I picked up from this band, & it definitely would be the most worthy if you were to own only one of their albums! Top notch production, killer riffs, HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY all the way through! If you like bands such as Malevolent Creation, Cryptopsy, Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, Broken Hope, Hypocrisy, Deicide, Hate Eternal, Grave & Morbid Angel then this album is worth picking up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatness!, June 21, 2010

Never listened to Krisiun before now. I listen to many of the genres within metal, but I was searching for something else top of the line heavy. I always like to hear new bands and hear new stuff. During my searching, the typical metal -core, death -core, whatever -core, and other crap showed up. Other death metal bands were also uninteresting and too dull for me. BUT then came Krisiun! It is in your face.... balls to the wall metal with just the right balance of groove, tempo changes, blastbeats and technicality to keep you interested. Pure death metal art! I recommend anyone who likes Decapitated, Bloodbath, and Nile to listen to this. Heck, if you like anything metal then listen to them.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Solid Slab Of Death Metal Goodness, May 2, 2007
This review is from: Assassination (Audio CD)
Very solid death metal album from a band which I am new to....I actually picked this one up after reading a review in a guitar magazine, and was not disappointed in the least. Krisiun know how to lay down some groove and chunk to go along with the hyper-fast blastbeats this genre is known for, with great effect.

Great death metal vocals which are actually understandable; thunderous, manic drumming and crushing, heavy guitar which offers a nice mix of precise, fast machine-gun riffs as well as slow, ponderous dirge riffing, with a few cool shred-style solos thrown in and some twin-guitar harmony weirdness akin to Decapitated. The staccato lyrical delivery is also somewhat Meshuggah-like, at times. Very heavy, cool death metal you'll be proud to fly the devil horns to. Recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Prepare to be pummeled..., April 10, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Assassination (Audio CD)
1. Bloodcraft -- The song is reminiscent of machine gun fire. 4/5
2. Natural Genocide -- Fast and punchy, but lacking something. 3/5
3. Vicious Wrath -- Crushing and brutal. Tremendous. 4/5
4. Refusal -- Very good rumble. 4/5
5. H.O.G.(House of God) -- Not a very good song. 3/5
6. Father's Perversion -- Good rhythm and sound. 4/5
7. Suicidal Savagery -- Senseless brutality. 3/5
8. Doomed -- Too Acoustic. 4/5
9. United in Deception -- Very Well Done. 5/5
10. Decimated -- Heavy, heavy, heavy. 4/5
11. Summon -- A bongo interlude. 3/5
12. Sweet Revenge -- Best song on the album. 5/5

Overall my complaint is with the drumming, which was overly done and somewhat annoying. The riff work is pretty good for fast music. I usually prefer slower riffage because I like very heavy sounds. Overall, Assassination is a good album. If you like death metal then you'll like this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Prepare to be ASSASSINATED!!, February 1, 2007
By
This review is from: Assassination (Audio CD)
Even though I still like bands such as Cannibal Corpse and Deicide, I however find Krisiun more brutal, more intense and much better than those two bands combined. Anyways, I just got into Krisiun over the weekend, when I went out and bought their new album "Assassination", and I have to say this, it just completely blew me away, and like the album title says, this album really does assassinate everything in it's path. I mean the musicianship on here is just flat out amazing, the songs are just fast, brutal, intense, and just downright addicting (with the exception of the two interludes "Doomed" and "Summon"). Vocalist/Bassist Alex Camargo's vocals are dark, yet very brutal and like Comrade Ren "Alterboy of Madness" below me said, you can actually understand what he's saying, and he also has some great bass lines you can hear too. Moyses Kolesne has great fast guitar riffs and cool blazing solos, and of course drummer Max Kolesne just dominates on here with skull crushing blast beats and buzzing double bass kicks throughout. "Bloodcraft" is a very intense opener that kicks off with sick machine gun like snare drums, bone rattling double bass kicks, and fast monster shredding riffs. Track two "Natural Genocide" is another skull crusher that includeds some creepy yet cool mini guitar solos. My favorite song on here no doubt has to be "Refusal". You just gotta love that line in that song. "YOU DIE EVERYTIME YOU SPEAK MY NAME". Other great highlights on here include "Vicious Wrath", "H.O.G.(House of God)", "Father's Perversion", "Suicidal Savagery", and "United in Deception". Oh yeah there's also a cool cover of Motorhead's "Sweet Revenge as well. Bottom Line: This album is without a doubt one of the best extreme death metal albums of 2006 and it also ranks up there with Deicide's "The Stench of Redemption", and Cannibal Corpse's "Kill". Anyways if you're a fan of Krisiun, extreme death metal, heavy metal, or if you're just a fan of good music in general like me, then by all means go out and buy "Assassination" right now, pop it in your cd player, open up a can of your favorite energy drink (you'll need one), turn the volume up full blast, and raise those devil horns. HAPPY HEADBANGING!! Jeremy Brackeen "themetalbeast"
Jeremy's song ratings:

6. Father's Perversion - 5/5
7. Suicidal Savagery - 5/5

5.0 out of 5 stars They've done it again, March 7, 2006
This review is from: Assassination (Audio CD)
Just picked it up and now I remember why I started listening to them in the first place. The brutal Brazilian trio has emerged at the top of their game. All of the previous accusitions of a lack of originality are gone, they've continued in the progression they started in Bloodshed, the mellower songs relfect their brutality while keeping them original. Loved it so much I'll be seeing them live with Morbid Angel and Behemoth in a month with several comrades. And from the impact of this album I have no doubt that it's gonna be a great show.

4.0 out of 5 stars , March 3, 2006
This review is from: Assassination (Audio CD)
The Death Metal scene gets stronger every time Krisiun releases a new album. While that's quite a pompous statement, it is one that proves to be true. Their new masterpiece, Assassination, carries on the Krisiun tradition when it comes to playing totally uncompromising, true Death Metal while developing their sound. It still feels strange listening to Krisiun play more characterized songs, as opposed to their past, straight-forward, blast beat-driven, yet effective compositions. Many of the songs also have a technical factor in them, never sounding pretentious in any way. Max Kolesne's solos-a gifted player in his own right (think of an extreme version of Yngwie Malsmsteem for reference's sake)-have never sounded cooler, and his leads demand the listener's attention. Tracks like "Bloodcraft" (a killer headbanger) and "United in Deception" are just downright crushing. The record ends with a true-to-form cover of Motorhead's "Sweet Revenge", showing Krisiun's often-public display of their love for the old school. The cover of the album of the album should give you an idea of what you're in for. All hail one of the leading forces of Death Metal today.
