This book was simply superb, and it contained a lot of hidden information unknown to me. For instance, the lovechild between
Marilyn and Kennedy and the scandalous secrets about the ... Kennedys that led to her death. The author has a very introspective view of the complete chaos her life was in during the end, and of treacherous friends who had woven a web of deceit around her plying her with drugs to keep her off balance
and confused. Luring her to Cal-Neva to be sexually abused and silenced by threats if she persisted in pursuing the Kennedys and vowing to hold a tell-all news conferance that would have been the end of Camelot. Oh! the shame of it all, heres a girl who had it all, beauty, fame and fortune but no inner peace for the tortured Norma Jean. For as it says "What does it mean to gain the whole world but lose your soul"!

I highly recommend this book for anyone who holds a good thought
for Marilyn, and is searching for the truth asto how she really

died, laying to rest the lies and coverup of the suicide theory,
kept in place for over forty years. Dynamite!! 3 thumbs up!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is one 'wow' book, January 22, 2002
I have always been fascinated by Marilyn Monroe and often wondered how and why she died so young. There are so many conflicting theories, but the contents of this book are little short of explosive. They may not be correct, though someone must know the truth? Seems never published in the USA. Why not? Has someone got something to hide. Methinks... probably YES!
I would not part with my hardback English copy for $1000.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally the whole story, March 27, 2007
By
This book touched me. Not only does it give you insite in to what really happened that terrible night so long ago, but insight into who Marilyn Monroe really was and some of the reasons behind some of the things she did. The inter-linking of people that entered her life, the Kennedy's, her childhood, marriages, and the details of that terrible night of her death (murder to be sure) are all there. There have been so many books on Marilyn Monroe and speculation of how she died. I read it and kept shaking my head that so many people "got away with" so much! The lies, the cover ups, the "lost" evidence. It's all there. You can't help but feel sorry for a woman that just wanted to be loved, and discusted at the way the investigation (what a joke) was handled. People went to their graves with secrets, but the secrets are out now. If you are a Marilyn fan or into conspiracy theories, this is a great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Justice For Marilyn!, April 5, 2009

I have read many biographys on Marilyn and this is hands down the best one ever written. Very well researched with plenty of facts to back up statements. Wolfe's writing will give you a very detailed description of what it was like to be there the morning of her death and of the investigation. Also a very good biography of her life. Not just another Marilyn Monroe biography. A definite must have for any Marilyn fan!

5.0 out of 5 stars Shocking! but Believable, February 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered this from the UK as there were no USA distributors. The book is over 600 pages long in paperback and goes into amazing detail. I've read several books about Monroe and none of them provide the clarity that this one does. She pretty much was dealing with a very dangerous family, the mafia, and generally dangerous men, who were only concerned with their thirst for political power and protecting their own interests. We all know what comes after the death of Monroe.....Read this!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Notch, the real Hollywood story!, July 30, 2011
I believe for awhile this title was unavailble in the United States, because the title was so controversial, and it was issued here under another title. I got my first copy from the UK. Anyway, this is as close to the truth as we are likely to ever get in our lifetimes. Mr. Wolfe is the only person to ever get an interview with Norman Jeffries. He was MM's maid, drivers son in law who was a contractor working on MM's Brentwood house. He was at the house daily before MM moved in, and up until that last Saturday. He was there the whole day on August 4, and tho he is near death, he tells Mr. Wolfe the whole story. This is a must read for any Marilyn fan. Just supurb!

5.0 out of 5 stars Could not put it down!, August 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book was thoroughly entertaining. I could not put it down. I still don't know for sure whether everything in it is the truth. You know how everyone has their own theiry on how MM died...I would like to think that she was murdered though because she was making all kinds of plans the last few weeks of her life. Why would she do that if she felt like killing herself? But anyway, even if it isn't true, it's still an extremely interesting book and is QUITE detailed. It also has rare pictures. I would definitely recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Overwhelming!, February 9, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am glad this is the first book I read on the death of screen star Marilyn Monroe. I am amazed at the exhaustive research that was done to create this masterpiece of history. I had always felt that due to her close relationship to the Kennedy's, the Mafia, and others that the whole story surrounding her death had not been told. This book proves that.

I come away from this experience with such respect and admiration for a woman who despite a horrendous upbringing, persevered and triumphed over all the trauma in her life. She never stopped wanting to learn about things, all kinds of things. She never gave up hope, and she continued to love despite that love being dashed against the rocks time and time again. She continued to take delight in the simple things.

I have a new disdain for Hollywood and its fakery, and for politicians. The two belong together because they are both phony.

To say she was used and abused by people would be a complete understatement. There was such a web of deception created around her that it probably will never be untangled.

Every time I think of her I will think of her beauty, her joy of life, her sadness, a little girl lost. And those windchimes from Carl Sandburg and their lonely toll in the California night as a beautiful soul slips away.
