Short, but solid.,

There's not a whole lot to be said about this little Assassin's Creed 2 offshoot. It's a side scroller with three different level types. Normal, do as you please. Stealth, get spotted 4 times and you fail, and chase, where you're being pursued. The combat is basic: counters, roll dodges, block breaks, and throwing knives. No fancy weapons here. That said, it's genuinely a fun game to play. There's a good amount of story, which is fully voiced, a nice touch. Obviously it's not the deepest story in the world as they wouldn't want to interfere with the main console titles, but it's interesting enough.
The drawback? It's short. You'll have it finished in under 5 hours. There are special objectives on each level that can be completed to unlock cheats, but nothing too compelling. Still, it was a fun little adventure, too much longer and the combat and platforming might have become stale. For the sale price I paid, I have no regrets.

A solid 2D platformer for the DS,

In this game you play Ezio, a well connected assassin from 15th century Spain. You are in search of the Spaniard who murdered your family but are side-tracked by a threat to your new family: the assassin's guild.
This game is an outright beautifully designed platformer with enough replay-ability to keep you from wanting to sell it once it is over. Imagine Prince of Persia crossed with Sonic and that is the best way to describe the game play. You are a very fast character who leaps from rooftop to rooftop running up walls from guards and slaughtering other pursuers. There are many blind jumps but the level design stays true to the classic form of: always jump as high as you can because that road is faster and easier. There are three basic levels: Chase, Stealth, and Normal. In chase levels if you stop for more than half a second outside, you are hit by the volley of arrows following you. All guards are aware of you and actively pursue you as long as they can. These are fast, easy and fun levels. In stealth levels you are to sneak up behind, and assassinate as many foes as you have to, to reach the goal(s). These require patience and tact to win because after being seen 4 times you instantly lose a life. The normal level objectives are just reach the goal however you can. A guard see you, you kill him. If he stabs you no problem, you health recovers after a few seconds of not being hit. Easy to win, hard to master. You are quantitatively ranked on your performance at the end of each level and awarded points accordingly. After you have collected quite a few points you can start unlocking cheats. Fast wall climb, unlimited knives, and super stealth mode are all fun to play around with. There are also lots of hidden secrets throughout the levels. Health bonuses and 10 secret missions. The storyline voice acting and overall presentation of the game are good enough. 7.5/10 Nice gruesome sound effects but the music, though not annoying at all, is extremely forgettable. 5.5/10 The graphics are about average. Nice assassination scenes. 7/10 Gameplay and controls are where this one really shines. Almost flawless. 9.5/10 This game's lasting appeal is excellent as well. Extra's will have you playing for more. 9/10 Overall this game is criticized and compared unfairly to the console versions. These games are not even the same genera. It would be like compareing Shakespear to Mozart and saying the story in Mozart's opera sucks. Overall I give this a 9/10. Sold game and worth the money.
