Excellent layout and colorfol illustrations throughout. I like the supplemental flow chart that points you to the appropriate section of the book if you need some general backstory or greater detail on the previous storyline. This really helps you find info you're looking for without stumbling into a spoiler. I'm a guidebook collector, especially of hardcover guidebooks, and I can tell you this guidebook is as beautiful and informative as the books for the prequels to ACIII.

For most visiting this page, you will either own or have heard of the previous three Collector's Edition guides that accompanied the earlier games in the series. That being the case or not, all of you should rest assured that once again, this product is THE essential companion to the game - perhaps more so than ever before...

Without beating around the bush, Assassin's Creed 3 was released amid criticism and fan disappointment. Love it or hate it though, many of the game's original issues have since been patched at the time of me writing this, but despite this, the guide nonetheless provides unprecedented guidance to an otherwise muddled experience.

It seems as though, with Assassin's Creed 3, any good idea on the table found its way into the game, for better or worse; resulting in an incredibly overwhelming ammount of side missions and diversions, many of which are not formally introduced. This is where the guide comes in - with quality to match its preceeded reputation, this guide provides a much needed structure with which to tackle the huge task list, covering full-sync objectives, bonus quests, weapons and armor details, DLC coverage etc.
In addition, the guide also contains a story analysis of all games in the Assassin's Creed saga, tackling answers to tough questions through developer insight, and providing a history vs. story section which supports the vast Assassin's Creed lore, and recognises just how closely this game explores real-life history. This is all neatly packed in a spoiler-labelled section at the end of the guide, whilst the aforementioned areas of the guide remain entirely spoiler-free.

Assassin's Creed III - The Complete Official Guide is the best strategy guide I've used, to date, for a game.

First, it is impeccably organized, walking through everything from basic game play, high-level hints that would assist someone stuck in a Sequence without spoiling any surprises, to excruciatingly detailed walk-throughs of every Sequence and side objective to help you achieve 100% Synchronization.

The book is organized in a manner that allows the player to get just the right amount of information for his/her style of play.

For example, the information at the beginning of the book is very high-level, without spoilers (or with warnings to stop reading if you want to avoid spoilers!). It's meant to provide a gentle push in the right direction should you get stuck. As a new player in the world of Assassin's Creed, this was a huge lifesaver for me early on in Sequences 1 and 2.

As you delve deeper into the book, the level of detail also increases. Not only do you get extremely detailed walk-throughs on every Sequence, but you get the same step-by-step instructions on how to achieve 100% Synchronization on all side objectives. These objectives include building your Homestead, Naval Missions, Boston and New York Liberation Missions and, of course, Assassin Contract Missions.

There is a section on Crafting and Convoys, how to optimize your profits and get stupid rich by selling the right items to the right shops.

There is a section on hunting, how to do it effectively for each type of game, and where to find every animal in the game.

I like this book, the presentation Is great. The front and back of the hardcover is one picture continued with a matte white finish and Connor is in a glossy finish, it's quality and looks expensive. This comes with a parchment style map of New York, Boston and Homestead. It's the same feel and texture of the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim map, only not as thick. The map is attached to the back of the book and has to be torn out along the perforated line, great right? I was actually successful at pulling it out without ripping it in about 30 seconds, so no problem there. The index is easy to read, the lay out is clean and stylish, they have a section in the front that catches us up on the story of Assassins Creed throughout the games so far. Good presentation, great addition to Assassins Creed III. Well worth the $20.
