Great, balanced approach to an obviously controversial subject.

This coupled with Ice T as the narrator really makes this a film that is enjoyable to all audiences, and really presents the issue like nothing before it.

It takes you through the history of the 2nd Amendment and demonstrates why the right to effective self defense is a fundamental human right.

I liked this documentary so much I have seen it three times and I seem to catch something new each time. I like that it does not turn this issue into a party issue, but a civil rights issue. By showing the history in American of disarmament and its racists and political roots, one gets a better understanding of the importance of the 2nd Amendment and all of our rights to preserving this great nation.

This is a must see for anyone who values their rights and wants to understand the important points in American history where those rights had to be defended from tyranny right here in the United States. I definitely recommend this DVD to others.

I was curious to see a documentary approach to the civil rights aspect of the recent flood of legislation surrounding guns in America.
I haven't been able to get (what I consider) good information from the media for some years, so I look for other sources.

This documentary was an eye-opener because it takes the time to show you the difference between what is said (for example, the political chorus "these gun control laws are common-sense, and will make us all safer") and what is done (the legislation tramples on our civil rights, and no one is the safer for having lost liberties, which are never regained).

Many Americans probably pooh-poohed the thought of lost civil rights until recently, with the Snowden situation showing how Obama has picked up right where Bush left off, and has been attacking your privacy with the spying apparatus that was created under the Bush-era Patriot Act. Now we see headlines of Feinstein (not surprisingly; she's very pro-Patriot Act and constantly attacking your Second Amendment rights) attacking your First Amendment rights -- she's going to try to pass legislation re-defining what "freedom of the press" should mean.

In an era of seemingly endless government encroachment on the tattered remnants of our civil rights, the best approach is an informed populace, and this DVD does a great job giving you the information you need to decide for yourself if the current direction of anti-Second Amendment legislation is the correct one.

I saw this film in my local theater after reading a powerful review online: [...] and I'm excited it is finally going to be available on DVD.

As a lifelong shooter and gun collector, I have watched in horror over the last few years as responsible gun owners have been attacked by the media and compared to the monsters that commit mass murder. This misrepresentation of the gun culture and gun owners has led to many uncomfortable conversations with friends, family, and acquaintances who spout these mistruths as gospel. Though I have taken great pains to discuss the truth about gun control, crime, and "Assault Weapons," this film accomplishes that goal in such an approachable, entertaining, and powerful way that I am buying a dozen copies to send out as Christmas gifts this year.

Instead of taking the traditional pro-gun hardline stance, Assualted simply presents the facts on the issue through powerful interviews and analysis of historical events often overlooked. This coupled with Ice T as the narrator really makes this a film that is enjoyable to all audiences, and really presents the issue like nothing before it. I walked away from the theater amazed at how much I didn't know about gun control and about many of the times in our history that civilian gun ownership is all that stood between good and evil. One particularly compelling section interviews a Korean business leader who helped organize defenses during the LA riots. He answered the question of "why you need an AR15?" very definitively...

I have seen this documentary in the theater and am buying here on Amazon! I was very impressed with the well thought out arguments regarding our 2nd Amendment Rights. The film in not a "pro NRA" type of film in anyway, rather, this film provides historical occurrences, (Hurricane Katrina, Los Angeles Riots) that provide real world facts and proof as to the reasons why our forefathers provided us with this Amendment. This film is narrated by "Ice T" which gives this documentary a solid "edge" to it's narration and at the same time provides compelling arguments as to the reasons why we should fight to keep our Amendment Rights as law abiding, tax paying Americans. This film is the first of it's kind regarding the 2nd Amendment and you will NOT be disappointed. Must Watch!!!

This is an eye opening experience. The historical reasons for the existence of the 2A are laid out in a logical and objective manner.

Anyone involved in the gun control debate needs to see this video.
