quintessential fusion - high energy - mind numbing mellow,
By A Customer
This review is from: Assembler (Audio CD)
One of the most complete sounding fusion albums ever produced. Not well known, but a real jewel. Each musician on the album, there are 3 of them, plays their own melody line. So what you have are three melody line intertwined to make a beautiful sound. Some very high energy cuts "Seacoy" but also some very numbing mellow cuts that make this album one of the greatest "Road Trip" CD's out there.Sit down, smoke one, and let your mind trace each melody line through the maze of the other instruments. then replay the CD and listen to a different melody line and how it effects the music. Solid

A Bit Of A Letdown,

After the brilliant "Doubnle Up" this pales in comparison. It's not a BAD album at all, but it did show that the gas tank was running close to empty though. The compositions are nowhere near as strong or memorable as "Double Up" but they do have their share of good moments. Most of the songs seemed to be more vehicles and vamps for blowing on as opposed to full-fledged compositions. "Crunchy" (complete with gonzo "screaming" by Bill I presume)and "Add Eleven" are the strongest compositionally speaking.
Not bad but not one of Bill's best either.
